yeah, you are definitely right in that sense, unless you get a new body or perform underwater then sounds are always gonna move around and be heard in similar ways. although the space (or lack thereof with headphones) and the intended volume can make a big difference. we hear bass and treble more ev...

I used to feel like that about my tracks a lot and now I do less often. here are all the things I have learned from myself and others in the time of reducing that feeling... hopefully you don't know some of them. make sure things aren't clipping at each stage of your track in live - adjust the volum...

operator lfo restarts?
I'm messing around with Operator trying to make a repeated note go up and down in pitch, but it seems like the lfo starts at the same value when a new note is triggered... Is there a way to get it to run up and down without restarting on every note? I realize this is really simple to do some other w...

Re: seeking a tip
ALSO, is there a way to record clip envelope automation? i.e. instead of using the draw tool, can I twiddle a knob and record, say a clips PAN, as a clip envelope (not as a track envelope in the mixer)... I didn't realize I looked like I was replying to you! Try recording in the arrangement and the...

chopping without chopping for people who sing by tapping
This is a method I just tried out to slice up a song by tapping the keyboard rather than actually zooming in and slicing. It might be useful for the people who are seeking ways to magically extract vocals from a song... Or to people who want strange ways to do things... Or to me if someone has a bet...

I don't know the song in question but maybe you could set it up as a 3 against 4 polyrhythm (ie a measure is 12 8th note triplets and the original downbeats go on every 4th triplet) and come up with some other triplet rhythms to work it out. I guess that could end up more confusing but hey, there ar...

newbie vst question (I hope)
When I'm working on a song I'll frequently go to the first blank preset in whatever synth vst I'm using and make that into the sound I want. Unfortunately I usually just save the song, and not the preset bank, so I have a bunch of songs with preset banks that are exactly like the original except for...

odd numbers in time signature denominator
This might seem weird but it actually would be really useful for me right now. I'm messing around right now with trying to change the tempo of a session in a cool way by overlaying a polyrhythm with a different loop length on top of a beat... Like a 3 against 4 rhythm except the 3 part is also in 4/...
