Don't do much of this but I tried it just now and see what you're saying. Yeah auto-timestretching functionality would be sweet, clearly it aint there. A worthy contribution to Feature Wishlist corner, methinks

Re: I have two versions of LIVE 8 on my mac book?

Getting rid of 815 won't lose you any content as its just the application the content is somewhere else, so you can just delete it. Unless I'm missing something here. You've got 815 or an alias of it on your desktop and the newer one is in your Applications folder. Unless you have some particular ne...

Re: Mastering with Izotope Ozone 4/Waves

Good points though. Wish I'd have had some more pep talks like that.

Necessary mastering is really the correction of mixing. Or the improvement of the mixing beyond the mixers technical, technological and/or judgemental capacity.

I guess!

Re: What do you compress?

A compressor of course reduces dynamics (of signal passed through it) Cheers Prof. EX, I think we're all on the same page... :D Hehe... yes... well, that response was obviously prompted by one above which might have been, perhaps, slightly confusing to someone new to tunesmithery... I notice it was...

Re: What do you compress?

Most people on the Ableton live forum are going to be making what one could call "energy music" likely to involve a degree of compression, expansion or inflation on most or all elements. Then again a completely amplitude constant synth sound obviously won't need any. All the usual points:-...

Make sure you got Sound Enhancer turned off in iTunes. If that's not too obvious a pitfall point-out!

And I'm all for clip automation btw. Its not an either/or with anything else and as long as stability is reasonably ensured let's have the useful, streamlined functionality that Ableton users most crave.

Re: Opening 2 Sessions of Ableton and sharing content

But don't you think - and I made a thread about this earlier to which no-one responded - its a bit annoying the way its implemented where the Audio and MIDI tracks don't have names, ie you put a plug-in on a track, name automatically changes but name isn't there in the browser when you look at it th...
