scanning "custom" vsts problem
I was recently running Ableton 6.0.7 and I accidentally set the custom vst folder to scan my whole hard drive. The software crashed and when I try to restart it just keeps getting stuck on the "scanning "custom" vsts" screen in startup. I've tried uninstalling all components and ...

Mac compatible RAM
I've just purchased a new 13" white 2.1Ghz MacBook from what is now the second most recent generation. I want to upgrade the ram to maximize my ableton performance and I understand there are only two slots. I have found some ram that is definitely compatible with Mac but it's available only as ...

Yeah I thought that I would never buy a laptop without a warranty but the price differences are huge. I could buy a refurbished MBP for around $3000 (NZ dollars) or a second hand one with better specs for around a grand. Seems like a no-brainer to me. Even if I was forced to fork out on repairs I ca...

Worth the risk?
Is it worth the risk of buying a second-hand MBP at less than half of the cost for a new one? AppleCare unavailable, if the thing craps its pants there's no one to turn to. I'm short on cash but don't want to end up buying something that's going to die on me. What to do?

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. 13 inch is too small, 17 inch isn't portable enough 15 inch is the Goldilocks size. What do you mean by having your VST's in a row? You mean the same location on my mac and PC? Also, how can I tell if a VSt is mac and pc compatible. I use Pianoteq, crystal and absynth ...

15 inch and incompatibility
I'm wondering about the prospects of using ableton (effectively) on a 15 inch screen I'm thinking of getting. Has anyone here had much experience with smallish screens? Also, I'm planning on buying a new macbook to complement my PC but I'm worried about compatibility issues. For example, are ableton...

That's exactly right. I won't be using Ableton for performances anytime, the only reason I want to run it on my PC and my laptop is so I can work on stuff while I'm travelling/on holiday/on the toilet. It seems like I should be able to do this easily, which i thought would be the case. Thanks for th...

Mac and PC - One love
I'm soon to be buying my first MacBook as well as my first (non-demo) copy of Ableton. I have a concern about compatibility because I would like my copy of Ableton to be able to run on this Mac as well as my PC at home. Is it possible to do this without buying two entirely seperate versions of Ablet...
