Re: How slapdash are you with EQing?

Of course not. If they can't hear.

Seriously though,eq can either make or break a track. It's really important. So,having no interest in learning it is not a very smart decision.

Re: CHANGING SCENES WITH DIFFERENT TEMPO

You can midi map the tempo to a knob or something. Or use your mouse if you don't have a controller.

Re: Help making bright synth

It's just one or two supersaws layered with a sub and a more mid-range bass. For example,in Sylenth set all oscs to saw, spread them around the octaves, add a chorus effect and reverb. Now duplicate that and detune the oscs a bit and that will give it a wider feel.

Re: Writer's Block >.<

Don't think about it. Maybe you're putting pressure on yourself. If you're just plain uninspired,do something else. Take a walk while listening to music on shuffle. Also, something that usually helps me is doing something different. Some technique you never though about doing may very well boost your...

Re: Is anyone creating orchestral music with Live?

I've only made one song that you would consider orchestral. I generally make EDM,but cinematic stuff is something I'd like to do more often for sure.

FM8 is more complicated for sure. I suggest learning Operator first.

Re: Developing your 'sound' / everything I do sounds different!

Again, you have a point. It's not something I feel restricted to though, and it's not like I don't have any enjoyment at all. I just don't like making music with that mindset of "I have to do this". ("this" being anything you can think of) I don't have my computer full of instrumen...

Re: Developing your 'sound' / everything I do sounds different!

You do have a point, although I really can't do that. If I put any restrictions on myself I start to lose joy in what I'm doing. And what I like the most about making music is the joy it gives me.

Whatever floats your boat I guess. :)

Hey man. Have you taken the lessons that come with Live? They're really helpful for begginers and easy to follow through.

Re: Developing your 'sound' / everything I do sounds different!

Interesting thread. I haven't been producing for as long as you,but I really don't care if my tracks sound too different from one another. I think it's important to do different things, explore different fields, and that will allow one to grow both musically and as a person too. You shouldn't impose ...
