Re: I want to quit.

I think the record industry is cancer. There, I said it. It’s a bunch of stockholders, suits, agents and wage-slaves in production, retail and promotion sharing 90% of the pie and *generously* giving the crumbs to the artist who still ends up making a shit ton of money because the pie is so damn big...

Re: Share your beginners mistakes.

When I first started out I thought the “Init" option(Init: short for Initialize) was a designer patch that came with the synthesizer. I always thought the patch sounded like crap but that didn´t deter me from trying it on one of my songs. You could have invented an entirely new genre. Defaultc...

I'm OK with receiving continuous new features, polish and upgrades as 9.x updates as long as its free. I'm just weird like that.

Re: So what's the deal with Richard Devine and Jordan Rudess?

Reminds me of this:

Although even Krusty seems to put more effort into it if those guys (or their agent) literally only send some stock photos and the authorization to use their name.

So what's the deal with Richard Devine and Jordan Rudess?

Are they professional product endorsers or something?

I swear to God there isn't a single plug-in or hardware synth I'm interested in that those two guys aren't trying to convince me to buy. More often than not at the same time.

Re: Maschine Mikro MK2 worth getting just for Komplete 11 Select

Wow. Thanks for the heads up but I think Maschine Studio Might be a bit overkill for my needs right now. Remember I originally just wanted Massive and upsold myself twice to Komplete 11 Select (which includes Massive) and then Maschine Micro which happens to include Komplete Select. I'm not so...

Maschine Mikro MK2 worth getting just for Komplete 11 Select

So this is kind of a funny (probably typical for NI) story. I am on the market for a solid and versatile VST Synth workhorse and NI Massive seems to fit the bill for various reasons (solid support, many tutorials, widely used and respected overall). Komplete 11 Select actually includes Massive and m...

Re: I want to quit.

Being an artist isn't about being the best. It's about being yourself. Expressing yourself. No matter how *bad* you think your work is according to some arbitrary metric. It's yours and you're the only one who could have made it. Every track you make is a product of you mind. A part of you. Forever....

Re: Since most people call Live "Ableton" ...

I think calling it Live was a big mistake business-wise. I have lost count of the number of people I've mentioned it to who have assumed it wasn't suited to songwriters. I think prior to version 4 it was a more accurate title. In fact it was called "Live - Sequencing Instrument" When Able...

Re: Since most people call Live "Ableton" ...

Just like they made Simpler the easier version of Sampler, they could release a simplified version of Ableton Live for tablets and name it Simpleton™.

FUN FACT: Humans are the species of the animal kingdom being able to travel the longest distance without resting. This lead to a hunting technique in ancient times consisting of simply stalking and following the tracks of potential prey until it just couldn’t go on any longer. Yeah, we were literall...

Just buy your DRM-laden music digitally, CDs are sooo yesterday. It's so convenient!
Yeah nah I'm happy almost my entire music is either CD, Vinyl or drm-free digital.

Re: Since most people call Live "Ableton" ...

"Live" has always been a daft name for a program. But then, how many eejits have named their DAW the equally daft "Studio" ? Even worse is the name "Studio One" which was surely chosen by a fan of that ancient "Who's on first" musichall / burlesque joke. &quo...

Re: Proudly collecting music gear and software for no purpose

I’m still on the fence about actually keeping my Push 2. I love the idea, the build quality and the fact that it will probably get a lot of cool new features and updates from Ableton in the future but I’m not really a live musician or performer and every time I try to use it I just end up like f**k ...
