the point being that you already have a great, high quality display sitting right next to your push. the lcd is there most primarily to allow feedback for the knobs. i see it as a foolish marketing blunder for them have phrased this as a computer free controller...

yes, note length can do this for you (set to 'note off'). But why do you find it hard to control note length? Maybe try playing with your sensitivity settings?

you can switch of 'select on launch' in the prefs.

yeah, i use sensitivity -3, threshold at log3, and i can play very gently. Somethings very wrong if you need to go as low as -15.

honestly, it would be a fair bit of programming to implement that into the api. Why not just name your tracks properly, and let the ableton coders work on the real bugs?

when you're in device mode, the buttons underneath the knobs correspond to each device in the selected track, allowing you to select and switch on/off the device. When you select a particular device, the knobs will map to control it (with more controls revealed by pressing the 'in' button) to accomp...

no, you cant really configure the footswitches at this point.

the knob resolution cant be edited, but using macro knobs its easy to adjust the range of the parameter you're controlling.
