What i did was to shut down ableton (or force quit which was pretty much the only way to avoid waiting 20 mins) locate the most recent files.db file for ableton (i used easyfind for this) then delete it. Then restart my MBP and...

hey miekwave thanks for this, the approach works on a mac too. Just used easyfind to locate the latest files.db and deleted it. Live now much more responsive. You made my day.

Hmm, this is so weird. All the midi is laid down fine and live is playing it back, but Push won't see it. Now, when I add a couple of extra notes manually or with Push, it does recognise those! WTF?
