Re: Midi map to trigger from note range but make it not transpos

You sure about that? If I click the midi mapping icon then click a clip... then press and hold one midi note (C1 for example) then press another midi note... C2 and release. Every note in the range C1 through C2 now triggers that clip. However, the clip is automatically transposed depending on which...

Ok thanks again. You're right, time to read the manual.

Midi map to trigger from note range but make it not transpos

Anyone know if it is possible to midi map a range of midi notes so the trigger a clip... but make it so that every key in the range triggers the clip exactly the same way so that it is not transposed?

Re: Possible to temporarily disable midi note trigger of clips?

Yeah I can change it on the remote but i'm using the Akai LPK25 when i'm not in the studio. I'm sure I can change it on that too but it seems like a hassle. What about my scenario above, does Live allow for a situation like that?

Assign the same midi mapping to multiple clips at once?

If I have a scene containing 20 clips, and all of them need to be mapped to the same midi mapping midi note range, is it possible to somehow select them and assign this midi mapping to all of them at once or do you always have to do them one at a time?

Re: Possible to temporarily disable midi note trigger of clips?

True, I guess let me rephrase the question with an example. My Novation Remote midi controller/keyboard can output several banks of 16 channels worth of midi. So let's say I had 32 clips in Ableton... each one being triggered by a full midi range something like this: Clip 1 - triggered by midi range...

Re: Possible to temporarily disable midi note trigger of clips?

Ok cool thanks man I'll check out Bomes. Just to make sure I'm clear on this... let's say I wanted to control all midi clips in a scene with a range of midi notes consisting of the entire midi keyboard (so that I could dynamically tranpose an entire scene with no range limitation. Since there is a m...

Re: Possible to temporarily disable midi note trigger of clips?

Hmm ok, I'm coming from Cubase which has a midi input transformer built in that lets you alter incoming midi data. Was hoping Live had something like that available either built in, a plug in, or via max. So, was hoping for something that let you filter/transform incoming midi like... "If incom...

Re: Possible to temporarily disable midi note trigger of clips?

Hey, I appreciate the reply. If I'm using a midi keyboard that does not allow me to change the channel (so, it always sends on Ch. 1 for example)... is there way in live to route the incoming midi so that as far as Live is concerned... midi coming in from a specific keyboard APPEARS as if it were se...

Possible to temporarily disable midi note trigger of clips?

I have some midi clips set to trigger by pressing certain midi notes on a keyboard. However, now I want to record a new midi part and it happens to contain notes that are already set to trigger clips... so, when I try to record my new midi part, clips trigger. Is there anyway to work around this so ...

Re: Applying scale (midi effect) to multiple midi tracks

I know this is an old thread but I've been trying to figure out a way to do this as well. Does anyone know if it is now posible in Live 8 to have one instance of the midi scale effect... alter the scale of all midi tracks? For example, if I have 20 midi tracks and I want them all locked to c minor.....
