Re: recording problem

Maybe I'm confused, but how does an interview have BPM?

One thing you might do is split up the clip into 2 clips, and leaving the interview clip unwarped

Re: creative techno guitar efx chain

Just as an example, check out Jon Gutwillig's guitar tone with The Disco Biscuits. Very electronic sound, but his guitar never sounds out of place with it even in the midst of serious 4-on-the-floor trance jams. A lot of it is how you play though, too - I've gotten nice sounds that work well in an e...

Re: USB audio interfaces that work with Windows 7

I'm using the Cakewalk/Roland UA-25EX. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/UA25EX 24bit/96khz (although only half-duplex for 96), 2 inputs with great preamps, solid Win7 drivers (both 32 and 64bit), MIDI I/O, SPDIF I/O, okay onboard compressor, phantom powered, bus-powered with very nice latency ...

Re: Looper problems/ still cant seem to get it right

Are you trying to use the big button or the 4 smaller buttons?

I have 4 buttons on my LPD8 mapped to the play/record/stop/clear buttons, and it works just fine for me.

Re: Guitar only comes through LEFT channel

1/2 means (usually) left/right, so if you have 2 channels going into your interface (say, left = guitar and right = mic), each of those will be one channel of the stereo input. You could convert the track to mono, which would put it through both speakers. Anyone know if you can use Utility or some s...

Re: creative techno guitar efx chain

Also, not quite what you're looking for, but if you have a guitar sporting humbuckers, it's a lot easier to avoid that jangle. Single coils, esp. Strats in my experience, are hard to disguise in an electronicky mix. You also might just try a lot of compression and high-gain distortion, to get a pure...

I've got an AKG Perception 200 and it's served me well for the past couple of years.

Re: Digiflesh music

Just gave a quick spot-listen to the tracks on your soundcloud, and the thing that completely jumped out at me was how similar all the individual tracks sound. To be brutally honest, I couldn't really tell one from another - it's the same bass over similar drum parts, repeated a few different ways p...

Re: For This Evening's Entertainment: A Demonstration of Sound

I like it a lot, dude. The beginning reminds me of the Myst soundtrack if it had been done a decade later.

The beats are a great complement to the rest of the orchestration.

I like the other tracks you have up, too - you've got a great feel with your tunes. Very original, at least to my ears.

Re: A Song A Week project

Thanks for the feedback. I've recently been wondering how my monitors handle bass (among other things), so it's good to have feedback that it's too much on some of the tracks.
