Can I add also: 1. Rewire apps given the option to be added like a VSTi. Mackie Tracktion's method of dealing with this is very good really. Simply drop a generalised 'rewire' icon into the track, just like you would drag a VST effect or synth. Then in the track routing section, or perhaps a new rew...

Weird, I dont have any sync problems ever. Use reason often, Live and reason work better then any other rewire combination I ever used. You should investigate what the problem might be. I am suprised. It didn't take me long to find it. But then it may be down to the other VSTi being used with Reaso...

Reason 3 is simply great! Yes, but it doesn't work properly with Live. And you know, from KVR, I said I would blame you if I didn't like live :-) Well, I do like Live. So much so that it is forcing me away from Reason. Right now, with PDC on, Reason's playback is all over the place when controlled ...

Does it not bother those of you who are using Reason that its not in sync with Live? :? I need to have PDC off to get Reason to run well enough in Live. And while this is OK for Live sets without too many VST plugins, it does sort of play havoc with complicated sets with lots of Reason stuff and a l...

I use this hardware sequencer with Live:

Its marvellous. It syncs to Live flawlessly and I tend to use it as a slave to Live.
Richie Hawtin has one I believe, although he's bound to use it differently to me.

Yes, that is right. This is a limitation of the current behavior of PDC we hope to improve in a future release of Live. Thanks Alex for letting us know. One thing that may be easier to implement is that you allow the track delay setting to work without PDC switched on. That is, allowing the user to...

Thanks for looking into this Alex. Unfortunately, the track delay setting appears to be broken in 5.02 and 5.03betas if you need rewire. You may have seen my other posts in the forum regarding this. http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30691 In summary any negative track delay set up on any ...

Hmmm...since this beta, could that mean the Live has some of the best midi timing compared to other sequencers with PDC turned on now? :D Except when you are using Rewire. On my machine I have to turn PDC off otherwise Reason is out of sync with Live. And because I have a problem using negative tra...

5.03b4 track delay anomaly
Live master with Reason as rewire slave. Set up two identical Redrums in Reason. Both playing the same pattern. One is driven by a Live midi channel, the other with Reason's own sequencer. The two should be in perfect sync and they mostly are with PDC on or off. However, if you pre-delay the midi ch...

Perhaps I am just reiterating of what has been said here, but this is the way I think it should be done: Recording of midi should be identical whether in IN, OFF or Auto modes. Midi data should be compensated only on playback. After all, the amount of pre-delay that any track has, will be affected b...

Set track delays with PDC off
I would like to be able to set individual track delays myself with plugin delay compensation off. PDC doesn't always get things right and appears to mess up with the rewire inputs hugely. Thus I prefer to leave it switched off and would like to set things up manually. Also, track delay numbers shoul...
