Re: Understand Midi Chord & Scale to SOUND PROFESSIONAL
I'm enjoying your blogs, keep them up. What comes first, the chord or the scale??? & does it make a difference? Your post suggest's that you place a chord device and then a scale. Knowing very little about music theory, however understanding Live's effects quite well, I have been placing a scale...

Re: My Nanokontrol just got HUGE
i was thinking of doing something like this but just with a QWERTY to make a button matrix. are there any resources online that you used to hack the QWERTY? i know a momentary button is just a momentary button, but i'm sure there's more to it than that. also, if I did something like I'm describing,...

Remote SL - Live - VST's view values
When using Ableton's built in effects and instruments and Ableton Template 40, the values of each setting are displayed on the Remote's LCD screen just as they are in Ableton. For example, when mapped to the autofilter the value for cuttoff is displayed in kHz. When using a VST, the value is always ...

DJ Mixer Fader Start to Midi
Do you have a mixer that has a fader start option? If you do, here is a little tip. Connect the Fader start output to a Sustain or Expression Pedal Input of a midi device (Keyboard, PadKontrol, Remote Zero etc) and a midi CC will be sent. You may need a 1/8 inch to 1/4 plug. You can use this as a wa...

Re: Good cheap 88 midi keys controller , no M-Audio please.
I'm currently looking for the same thing.
I have discovered you can buy a weighted key digital Piano with midi out (some have a USB output)for less than an 88 Key midi only controller.

Re: Simple padKontrol/Ableton question
Place the clips on seperate tracks.
Sounds like the clips on are on the same track or you are using drum Racks

Re: Best headphones for studio use. Low end important
Check the Impedence of the Headphones and make sure your setup can power the cans appropriately. I was initially looking at the DT 770's until I was reccomended not to buy them unless I have a headphone amp. http://www.headphones.com.au has a really good forum and good advice on a large range of cans.

Re: Akai MPK 61 vs M-Audio Axiom 61
Thanks for all the replys. I ask for your opinions as there does not seem to be 1 place in Perth that has the Axiom's in stock (they all seem to have a very poor opinion of m-audio/Avid and their supplier here...), therefore I cannot try them out. The above comments have encouraged me to wait and tr...

Akai MPK 61 vs M-Audio Axiom 61
2 similar keyboards, The M-Audio is about A$100 cheaper. I do not need the pads and I am not phased about the faders as I have a Padkontrol and Remote Zero. What I am really interested in is the keys, how they feel and build quality. I am keen to here any opinions on what you believe is a better key...

Re: How to achieve a Mouseless (almost anyway) Ableton workflow?
Do I need to get Automap Pro so that I can assign the keyboard shortcuts? Forget about that idea. The clincher for me when purchasing the launchpad was the free upgrade to automap Pro. I already own a remote sl. I set this all up, received my free upgrade to Pro and............ The keyboard shortcu...

Re: Mod Wheel and Analog
Thanks fo rthe response. The benefit of being able to assign the mod wheel within analog is that it saves this assignment when saving as a preset.

Mod Wheel and Analog
The only parameter that I can find in Analog that can be modulated with the mod wheel is Vibrato Amount.
Am I right?
I know that I could create Macros, however it would be handy to be able to choose many other parameters to assign to the mod wheel.

Re: Ableton Instruments Midi Chart. Is there oneJust like VST's?
Thanks for your responses. I was expecting those answers. Isn't it weird that a 3rd party vst provides additional functionality over Live's native devices.

Ableton Instruments Midi Chart. Is there oneJust like VST's?
I should know this after many years using Live as my only sequencer. Do Ableton Instruments like Analogue and Operator have a midi implemention like many VST's? I have a novation remote zero and only just today discovered that when using the Bass Station Preset with the Bass Station vst, The midi cc...
