Re: Old macbook overheating
remove the battery and make sure it is not bulging. if it is you should replace it. it would also be worth opening up the machine and cleaning the dust and fluff out of the cooling vents and fans. I just replaced the old battery with a new one (non-apple). The previous one was bulging indeed. Clean...

Re: Old macbook overheating
Interesting side-note: My trackpad (mouse-square) behaves erratically when the MB is getting hot. It doesn't really follow my directions anymore, and jumps around randomly when I touch it. When it cools down, the behavior turns normal.

Old macbook overheating
My late 2008 unibody macbook (2ghz intel core 2 duo, 4 gig mb ram) gets so hot when running Live, I am afraid some evil things will happen.
It cannot remain on your lap, that is for sure!
What might happen?
- battery explosion?
- ssd melting?
- shortcircuit?
Just wondering
(seriously)

I don't think that is possible at all. I write down the good presets on a piece of paper

Just build something Took me 2 hours of thinking, and about 6 hours of constructing. And I consider myself as a very handicapped person when it comes to making stuff.

Re: Deleted my sample database by mistake
I did a 'deep format', so not sure if that will be possible. Might give it a try tonight. But it is a very slow process with that amount of data, if I'm not mistaken.

I also have a couple of backups, but it's mostly outdated stuff that I don't use. The most precious ones were on that single disk.

Deleted my sample database by mistake
Yesterday I was backing up (700 gigs..) to another disk, while some tiny errors occurred. I just formatted and started the process over, when I found out that it hadn't been copying but moving it instead. Had a little emotional breakdown for 15 minutes. But after that I realized that the whole datab...
