Consolidate into new scene without while recycling audio loops
Consolidating all automation is a laborious task, ideal for Live to do that automatically but there is still one thing that overdone, I think. Bouncing audio seems unneeded if all automation is not incorporated anyway. You end up with plenty of copies of a single, identical loop only dozens times lo...

Re: thinkpad x230 successor
Thanks for the heads-up. What was wrong? Turbo boost stability or thermal issues?
Will still clear of U-line. I knew they were a compromise but assumed the number of generations later this evened out.
Thinkpads are solid post-IBM, newer ones departing from the IBM ethos.

thinkpad x230 successor
Hi Looking for the best performance to price ratio at present for second hand computers. Reasonably happy with x230 (16 gig) performance so anything that doubles on that would be great - if GBP200. Thinking of Thinkpad t480 or Dell XPS 9360 i7 7th or something similar. Are such processors as 2.4 GHz...

Back to arrangement belongs in the transport panel
As in the title. This is where you can instantly see its state without looking for it each time. Also should be in one place both for session and arrangement view, I think.

"Loop freeze"
Is there a way to do some sort of background freeze of heavily processed audio clip? Here is the context. I normally do arrangement still before the kik drum clip is ready, so as the project grows, kick track gets lots of effects, sometimes to the point of burdening the CPU (on the age old computer)...

groove functions
Easy to implement, unobtrusive and will contribute to the intuitiveness of the system - drag a clip to the groove pool - drag the groove clip to track header for groove on all the track's content, separately in session and arrangement view - drag groove clip to master track header for same groove ac...

Loopered clips colour
I still have yet to find out a reliable unabsorbing colouring and naming system?
Would it not help if looper-created loops inherited the colour of the track it was on?

Re: Post your most obscure Ableton Live knowledge
If you are playing loops in session view while the loop in the arrangement view is set to anything less than one bar, there are some unpredictible effects on the timing for triggering loops even if these are set to start on full bars. Might be useful near the end of party when ready for some experim...

Re: Post your most obscure Ableton Live knowledge
just remembered a good one... In large sets, removing all the unused "stop" buttons on the tracks improves CPU usage. (or removes weird hiccups in the audio when using scene launch). Oh wow thank you so much for this! My internal laptop fans stopped spinning so much after trying this. If ...

Re: How to Minimize Latency?
Alternative perspective for your consideration. Personally, I have never managed to convince myself that such a wonderfully portable thing as a laptop deserves to be 'chained' to a box which does nothing ;) When going for an external audiocard with low latency capabilities, I think it's important to...

Lock a send
(or any parameter, for that matter)
This is not exactly the same as disable because you may want the 'knob' not to respond so that you keep the setting.
Colouring sends would be cool as well.

I think it was implemented some time ago, go to presest in browser (the recycle button) and use cursor keys as the phrase plays. escape to revert and enter to confirm change.

Re: Playhead visibility
I hear what you guys say. it might be that my contrast is insufficent, although I would not adjust the whole screen to this single line
However, it might be the skin that I use the same colour for the playhead vertical grid lines or simply.
Good points on session view.

Paste to multiple selected places
Technically, session view is like excel and one good editing function is still missing. If you want to propagate one clip to five different scenes, you need ctrl+v five times. you could select all the destinations and paste just once - into all of them.
