Re: Dummy Clips - Fastest Method?

when setting up dummy clips i put everything into racks and asign the macro knobs to the on/off controls i reverse the levels of the knobs so that 100% is off, this defaults the effects to off that way i dont have to wade through turning 10 effects off for each dummy clip Sounds interesting... Can ...

Re: Dummy Clips - Fastest Method?

I don't know of a faster way to do this. Also, to compound the problem, dummy clip parameters are relative, not absolute. Therefore you have to initially set the parameter at the highest state you would want to it to be, and that will correspond to 100% in the dummy clip's parameters. Hello ethios4...

Re: Good mic for acoustic guitar?

, I would not typically go with a dynamic mic for acoustic guitar. I have recorded acoustics with an SM57 before and the result was OK, but condensers on phantom power typically do a better job. I think dynamic mics are a lot better suited for miking amplified instruments +1 on condensors rather th...

Re: Dummy Clips - Fastest Method?

Ableton devices that aren't processing signals won't consume CPU. There are a few exceptions to that rule with audio buffering devices such as the beat repeat and the reverb, because these plugins are always calculating. Despite the reverbs being all on, only one will be running at a time. The othe...

Re: Dummy Clips - Fastest Method?

i don't quite understand the need for a dummy clip? if you just want to switch between reverb presets easily, make a rack w/ each preset/reverb on its own chain and assign a knob to the chain selector. Hello Scientist, yes, but that's not my question. My question is: How best to set up dummy clips?...

Dummy Clips - Fastest Method?

Hi Guys, I'm looking for the most time efficient/easiest way to create an effects patch using a dummy clip. What I mean is; let's say I wanted to switch to a particular reverb patch at a certain point in my sequence. To keep the project CPU efficient, I don't want to use several instances of the rev...

Re: Bugfix update 8.0.5 available

Hmm, the same project that I made in Live 8.04 with a cpu hit peaking around 35% is reading 74%+ in Live 8.05 with audio dropouts. Switching back to 8.04 and loading the same project reads 35% max again. Live 8.05's CPU hit appears to have more than doubled. Anyone have similar experiences? Cheers, ...

Re: question about midi foot control buttons

Sebastian,
neither of those Line6 pedals have a MIDI out socket.

Unfortunately they are designed for use with the POD stuff only.

*** Update ***

I found the problem, false alarm it's not a bug.

The clip that I was testing the looping with with was not correctly warped.

Doh!

Re: Good mic for acoustic guitar?

Rode M3 condensor, excellent on acoustic guitars.

Sounds fab and incidentally the specs. are top notch

IMO no need for valves, high price tags or any extra placebos...

Looping Bug in 8.04?

Possible (ugly) bug 1. Record an external source via audio in 2. Hit <enter> to record (e.g) a 4 bar clip in time with the metronome 3. hit <enter> a second time so the loop leaves record mode and continues playing 4. Let the loop play around 5 0r 6 times. 5. Is it still exactly in sync? Goes out of...

Re: Bugfix update 8.0.5 available

The usual request: it would be great if the installer didn't keep installing Live Packs for instruments I don't own. Since going through all the betas it's been over 12 times now that I've had to sit and wait and watch the installer install Analog, Collision, Electric, Tension, and then first thing...

Re: Eq question

If you like the snare sound but just want it to be quieter in that loop, just use a clip envelope to drop the vol on the hit. +1 or if you really need to isolate that hit for e.qing/processing then right click and choose "slice to loop" (iirc) then add your process plug to that particular...
