I've also heard this might be the case with some friends who have a Virus TI - they say they'd rather use the analog outputs instead of the USB-SoftSynth version. They say it just sounds better. (Tarekith will likely disagree.) :) Why do you say that? There's very probably a difference in sound bet...

Why are you guys on a huge discussion about whether Lives warping affects sound quality. Of course it does isnt this obvious to your ears. the question is about Lives general audio quality. If you warp nothing its the same as any daw. How good your mix comes out is wholly dependent on your skills a...

Personally, I like the hands on, dedicated controls of a hardware synth. Being able to (with my eyes closed) instantly reach for any parameter and know what it does. Generic controllers are a start for softsynths, but after trying many of them, they never really are the same FOR ME. Some people don'...

I don't think it matters one bit. I've heard awesome examples of both. Korg Legacy, Pro-53, Arturia Minimoog are some of the best synths I've ever heard. Waldorf Q, Access Virus TI, and Alesis Micron are some of the best synths I've ever heard. (just a few examples mind you, there's plenty more) I t...

Isn't internal mixing bus PRIOR to any master faders though? Just out of curiousity, what did you mean by you had to normalize the one with the lower fader? Wouldn't that imply that you were using less bits? Not sure what you meant, that's all. Cheers for the intriguing and well spoken (ie, no angry...
