I could probably install 2 Linux distros before to 1 Live update.
I have 3 systems of various specs and all are really slow.
If they could allow just to update the engine.

Re: How to Minimize Latency?
Looking like your sound card is not powerful enough. You need a lower than 512 buffer in 2023. You could check what your internal sound card is and update the firmware, might help. A dedicated audio device is usually an usb sound card like this - https://motu.com/en-us/products/m-series/m2/ https:/...

Re: Why does Ableton 11 take so long to load ?
I noticed longer loading / scanning times after having more than 100.00 samples on an external USB 3.x drive Many users don't add folders to Live. It scans them plus it creates a large db file which can add 3gb of space to your system. This is a "unique" feature to Live since v9. I have n...

Re: .SFZ vs .SF2
I still keep VSampler on my system despite being 32 bit. It can convert Sf2 to Kontakt. Reason use to support soundfonts but I've had to turn them into refills for it to work. There are some soundfont gems out there. Squidfont Orchestral sounds great to this day. FL Studio brought back their soundfo...

Re: .SFZ vs .SF2
As Ableton said lately, « as of Live 11 it is no longer possible to import .nki, .eks, .sf2, or .gig files into Sampler. » I'm surprised to notice — and quite disappointed, to say the least — that Sampler won't import SFZ files either. So, unless you have sampled one sound per note (i.e. wasted dis...

Re: Ableton Loading Slowly
I'm sure you've done the usual yada yada, Often it's a misbehaving plugin/ I had this issue once with Live 10 and 11. I have it on 3 machines and it will take a long time to load up on one machine. The culprit was Acronis True Image 2020 kept scanning for spyware on Live. I guess it didn't trust it ...

Re: How does my planned PC build look for music production?
There are so many choices. I use "budget" cards. I'm still using a M-Audio 2496 in one system until it dies or the system dies. I also have a MOTU M2 hooked up to it. It runs at 256 samples but I have not pushed it yet, My main system has an IK Aze IO but I haven pushed it yet. In reality ...

Love how people go budget on an audio interface. At least it's not onboard sound.

Slooooooooow loading Live 10, 11, finally solved
This only happened on one machine. The culprit was Acronis True Image. Acronis monitors the system for potential spyware. I set that it does not monitor Livre's folder Odd this behavior didn't exist on 2 other machines. Since Live is not installed where most software is maybe it triggers malware sca...

Re: Unusually high cpu usage in Ableton 11
I still have this extremely slow loading times on one system. This existed in Live 10. I'm not sure if it hates my AMD FX6300 or my SanDisk SSD. There is something odd and I don't know if ut's software or hardware I've tried the usual fixes that are suppose to increase loading times but doesn't work...

Re: Will there be a native Apple M1 release of Ableton 10
Then again Live is one of those rare developers who will still update the previous release.
I guess there has to be a crossroads when deciding an M1 is really worth it if you have to spend money of the various software you have for updates. People have survived creating music with older gear.
