Re: The Mac vs. PC thread
Well this was a good way to entertain myself throughout the tail end of my monotonous and awful work day. I must be weird, because I use both. I prefer my PC for downloading music and movies, doing ghetto graphic design (MS Paint skills, whut!), while my Mac is utilized for all musically related tas...

Re: dj question....multiple tempos in one track
I've used these types of tracks when dj'ing via turntables, but I have also had some issues finding a way to utilize them within Ableton. Googled "triolic quantisation" and found nothing useful, aside from this thread, lol.

Re: Fly Lo set-up?
So when are you haters going to post up some video footage of your mind-blowing live sets that make these guys look like the lazy fraudulent hacks that you're making them out to be? Since when has hating been the past-time of the truly talented? I'm just not a happy person. Let's not get confused h...

Re: best small EQ plug to use?
If you have a Mackie or whatever lying around, you could always send some white noise thru it into Live, put a Spectrum plug on the input channel, manipulate the Mackie EQ and have a look at the results. Then re-create similar visual curves on the Spectrum with an EQ8. Quick 'n' dirty but it might ...

eh, kind of. Really I'm just bored at my slave job and this helped me to kill about 30 more minutes of my miserable day.Salty P wrote:ill-legal? wrote:Warning: Excessive background rambling leading up to my point...please feel free to skip ahead to the last paragraph or two.

Warning: Excessive background rambling leading up to my point...please feel free to skip ahead to the last paragraph or two. ---------------------------------------- I’ve always found amusement in these debates, because I’ve seen most angles from a personal level. My initial infatuation with dj’ing ...

Re: Please help me sync two laptops with live on both!!
I’ve also spent a lot of time trying to get this MIDI sync going flawlessly between two Mac laptops with only moderate success at best. One thing that helped was using ipMidi, although typically around the 45 minute mark of our joint set we’d find that the slave began to drift to the point that it s...

Personally, I think the iPad is pretty weak. I don't see myself giving up my laptop or my controller in favor of that overhyped pos anytime soon.

Re: DJ-style EQ or Emulator?
Thanks for the feedback thus far, guys. I did indeed search the topic, both here and on a few other forums as well. Like I mentioned in my initial post, I’ve tried the LSS DJ EQ, and while I thought it sounded passable (then again, I had two monitors blaring in my face) I did get some negative feedb...

DJ-style EQ or Emulator?
Coming from a more traditional dj background (started with 1200’s, added CDJ’s and Serato eventually), I have begun to dabble in Ableton as a dj tool. I love the idea of being able to bring a laptop, my controller, and having the ability to run more than two tracks at once (without the hassle of add...
