I'm interested in this topic, too bad it disintegrated.
I'm looking to get my tracks as loud as possible as well

Re: Logic Pro X is out.
The retro synth by itself is kind of worth at least $100. This is sort of a no-brainer.

Beats, While revenue and profit are different things, if Apple isn't a profitable company they will cease to exist Based on economic theory, the sole purpose of for-profit companies is to return a profit to investors. Otherwise, they'd be a non-profit playing by a different set of rules delivering a...

Re: Logic Pro X is out.
Man, I downloaded it and can't believe that some of these old annoyances are still there. You can't non destructively reverse a part of a region without having to still bounce it as a new audio file first? The MIDI note length editing still sucks. When moving an audio region while playing back a se...

Tal makes good stuff. I'm interested. Is there a demo? It's not clear on their page.

Re: A lot of pros have jumped to Ableton from Logic
Thanks, MW! I bet Logic X steps up its "workflow" game much to the chagrin of a lot of long time Logoc users

Re: Who thinks live 9 is a rip off? anyone else?
If I remember correctly the upgrade to 9 was discounted about 30% for a while during the release.
It's not a rip off. There's lots of improvements and new stuff to justify the price. Stability on the other hand is another issue I'm dealing with. Either way, I'm still having fun with it.

Re: A lot of pros have jumped to Ableton from Logic
I feel software companies these days are focusing on workflow rather than work product.
I can create and arrange a track much easier and faster than I could 8 years ago. However, my mixing and mastering skills still suck

Re: A lot of pros have jumped to Ableton from Logic
I'd imagine logic runs better on a Mac then Ableton, I'm thinking of going the other way, you don't get warned about all the CPU problems you have with Ableton before you buy it, it's fine as long as you don't record vocals. Yes, to Logic's credit, it's rock solid on a Mac. Since upgrading to Live ...

Re: Hardware synths vs sofware synhs
@deva Talking about VA synths. Have you ever tried a Virus TI or Clavia Wave, Nord Lead? These are good examples of VA synths where most parameters are directly tunable. I love both of these for their sound and the easy access to all parameters. There are some hardware synths where most parameters ...

Re: A lot of pros have jumped to Ableton from Logic
Ableton's Simpler plug-in sums it up. Ableton doesn't take 10 key commands or mouse clicks to do simple tasks. That's interesting adonis. I've never used Logic myself. But I have a great interest in efficiency, ease of use, ergonomics, accessibility and mouseless computing. I'd love to see an examp...
