It definitely wasn't feedback. Had every channel on "no input." It was eerily similar to the sound that used to come out of FL Studio back in 2004, when I would stop recording audio it would do it- I can't describe it.

On my 2018 MBP, Live emits all sorts of terrible noises when I'm away from my audio interface and just use the laptop speakers. Maybe Live has some problems with running without an audio interface on this particular model and OS. Weird.

If it's not showing up as a control surface in Live, make sure the usb cable is pushed all the way into Push. I've read that Gilmour's sound on that particular solo was his strat through a big muff pedal (fuzz at around 9 o clock and volume knob on guitar turned back a little so the notes clean up). Not sure what plugins you are using to try to get there...

All you need is a sustain pedal with a 1/4" plug. Plug this into the back of Push (the innermost input-forgot the number). The sustain pedal will control the record button on Push.

Look, even Deadmau5 agrees with me. And tweeted it to all 3.6 million of his followers. So? The real question is whether he suggested it to Ableton and made a suggestion for people to vote on. I do this too and it's pretty quick. But it would be nice to have a sample editor inside Live. I know it would be cool if Ableton put their own personal touch on it too. Live will work just fine for recording folk music. I use to record all kinds of acoustic instruments.

The only way I've been able to implement something like this is by incorporating Push into my setup.

Is this something that might happen in the next version? The notes for the new beta mention the new simpler modes being available for Push 1. What exactly does this mean and how would it work?
