UI for M4L Devices?
This seems like it should be really basic but I can't get this to work: When I create a patch in Max 5, I can e.g. choose that only the sliders and dials will appear in presentation mode. This works fine in the Max environment. If I open the patch and do not switch it back to patching mode, I will o...

Re: MIDI and Audio into the Same Track: Is This Possible?
Thanks. I reposted my question to the M4L board. I'm not totally sure how side-chaining would work since this instrument requires both MIDI and audio inputs to even produce any sound at all, before it even goes to something like a compressor. Or am I misunderstanding?

MIDI and Audio in the Same Track: Possible?
I've created an instrument in Max/MSP that takes MIDI signals from the MIDI attachment on the guitar, which are fed into an FM synthesizer algorithm. Now this instrument then also takes a direct audio signal from my guitar and convolves this signal with the output of the synthesizer. Thus, it needs ...

Importing Scores
If I create a score in Sibelius, is there any way to simply transfer this material into Live, even with an audio file, without having to recreate every single note using the MIDI step sequencers in Live? I'm guessing that the answer is no, going by the User Manual.

Re: Cutting and pasting time: Live crashing
Oh, this is surprising: I did the same thing I was doing before except that I used keyboard shortcuts instead of menu commands. This time it worked without difficulty!

Cutting and pasting time: Live crashing
I want to add a four-measure introductory section to my piece. So I am trying to shift the whole piece over by four measures in order to make room for this. I am encompassing the 120 measures of the piece with a loop brace, clicking "Select Loop", clicking "Cut Time", setting the...

Re: Tempo Automation With Simpler
When I use ":2" or "*2", the loop is automatically resized. Is there a way to make this happen when I use the number box? It actually seems a little surprising that this would be difficult since I thought this would be useful for DJs.

Re: Tempo Automation With Simpler
OK, yes, I see that I can do this with the number in the "Seg. BPM" box but there is only one hitch... The length of the loop remains fixed (in 'absolute' terms) unless I keep resetting it. As a result, even if I play through the loop faster by reducing the "Seg. BPM" number, Liv...

Re: Tempo Automation With Simpler
Right, but Looper also increases the pitch of the loop when I increase the speed at which the loop is played. I would like to be able to play the loop faster without changing its pitch level. Even when I dump it into an audio track, I see that I can only change the tempo at which the loop is played ...

Tempo Automation With Simpler
Hello I am sorry if this has been covered previously. I have a sequenced loop programmed to play a sample using Simpler. What I want is for the tempo of just this loop on Simpler to increase while the tempo of the rest of the arrangement remains constant. Is there a way to do this? I can see how it ...
