manually opening a project's saved undo history?

hey everyone, I've got two queries: how can I manually open a recently-crashed project based upon the saved undo history? and how can I avoid hitting the 4GB ram limit imposed by 32-bit apps? more details: i'm working on an edit of a track at the moment. as I'm working with a wav-file of a stereo bo...

Unable to get Remote 25 SL buttons to map as focus buttons

Unable to get Novation Remote 25 SL buttons to map as focus buttons hey all, I'm using the Novation Remote 25 SL (mk1) in my live set. http://www.analoguehaven.com/novation/remote25sl/SL25_Front_Large.jpg on the left-hand side of the controller, I'm using the second row of buttons as focus buttons. ...

help syncing external synths on new system (used to work)

hi all, my problem is this: If I sync my external synths to Ableton's midi clock, I lose all ability to send them midi notes. so I've recently moved across from a desktop Mac Pro to a Macbook Pro. And I'm now having a problem getting external synthesizers (Novation A-Station & Elektron Monomachi...

simple q: how to turn off looped preview for short files?

hi all, so i've recently moved systems to a new laptop. How can I turn-off looped previewing for short files? I've got loads of short (less than a second) AIFFs that I'm using as percussion sources. At the moment, Live is previewing them in a looped manner, which results in a kind of machine gun-esq...

bouncing track with ext ints, but turning ext inst off?

hi all : ) so my full question is: is it possible to do an offline-bounce of a project that contains external instruments, without manually turning off the external instrument devices? i'm using the elektron monomachine (6 voices) and a Novation A-station. I often record their parts back into ableto...

Re: Live gigs: worth having a second drive (SSD) for audio?

went with OWC's 120gb one. The higher-spec one. Zooming. curious to see how it goes with recording... see if it's possible to record to the SSD at the same time as playing live (from a Live lib that is also on the SSD). or perhaps it'll perform better reading/recording the project on the HDD??? will...

Re: Live gigs: worth having a second drive (SSD) for audio?

hey ionic, that's what I now plan to do, but keeping it all internal by using this: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other+World+Computing/DDAMBS0GB/ got two HDs in my macbook pro now. SSD for the system disk & current work-in-progress projects (120gb) and larger sample libraries, instruments, and...

Re: is it possible to warp a song from major key to minor?

Haha yeah cheers dudes & dude-ettes. That got totally out of hand. Let's all get back to writing music and designing sounds. A little less conversation?

It was all theory anyway. I dont have an actual piece I want to modulate keys with.

Cheers : )

is it possible to warp a song from major key to minor?

hi all, is it possible to warp a song from major key to minor or vice versa? I'm sure Melodyne DNA could do this (to some degree) with individual audio stems. but is there a program around (Ableton or other) that could apply a global change to a master-bus bounce (aiff or wav) of a track? (so global...

Re: ableton live and monomachine: can anyone get in PERFECT sync

anyone got any updates?

Abe's just put out an update of Live 8 (boasting improved sync with hardware - can't remember which way, slave or master - think it was slave).

So any had any more luck?

Think I'm pretty close. will do some proper tests some day soon : )

Re: Live gigs: worth having a second drive (SSD) for audio?

I have two HD's in my MBP too (one SSD, one regular 7200RPM drive), but I use them differently. I have my OS and all apps installed on my SSD and read/write all audio to the regular drive. I guess if you can get a big enough SSD, it would be great, but I record my audio at 96kHz (sometimes 192kHz) ...

Re: Live gigs: worth having a second drive (SSD) for audio?

hey guys, so it's been a while between posts. In between time, the quad-core Mac Mini has come out (as the server model). This can accommodate a second HD out-of-the-box (there's no CD drive). And it doesn't look too hard to get into, to install it yourself. So I've been tossing up between a Mac Min...
