The good thing about the BCF is that in Cubase emulation mode you can get at every parameter and you don't have to assign anything, whereas with the BCR you'd have to use MIDI assign mode and make presets. Sometimes there are a lot of parameters and it's not so quick to wade through all the pages on...

Keyboard Command: Invert selection
Invert selection, sometimes called Toggle selection:
Select everything that is unselected, deselect everything that is selected.
Suggestion for shortcut CTRL + SHIFT+ A or CONTROL + T
Quite a standard editing command.
Ableton Live is the best sequencer ever!

Thanks guys.... and once again it goes to show how personal everything is... I know a lot of those synths and don't think any of them are what I look for (sigh). AdamJay, Operator sounds interesting... didn't like the included bass patches so much but I think it is a killer synth, will have to buy.....

Which VST is best for BASS?
Bass.... the final frontier.
Which VST do YOU think is best for a tight bassline?
I like a punchy attack time, this is quite hard to find.
One oscilator is best (or SYNCable oscillators), don't want chorusing/beating on the bass notes...
Your suggestions are appreciated!

Envelopes with very fast attack times
Don't know how many of you have noticed this, but Ableton's Simpler has MUCH faster sounding envelopes than pretty much anything else out there, software or hardware. Has something to do with the shape (exponential not linear) as well. Yes... Ableton makes very good software :-) I am talking about a...

DJ tips
Here are some of my random thoughts I've collected over the years... - If you've got all the girls dancing, usually all the guys will be on the dancefloor too, so then you've got everybody dancing. - If only the guys are dancing and (almost) no girls, you're playing too hard. - Don't have your head ...

Recorded audio late
It also happens to me... if I record a VST or Live device to an audio track (internally via "resampling" the audio is a bit late. Why?

You can just hit record. advantage is that if you make a mistake you can edit. Don't know how long it would take to render. On a good computer it's many times faster than real-time. And also (like the other poster sais) you could record in a spare audio track with input set to master. Hadn't thought...

You don't need anything to record a Live DJ set
You don't need anything. Simply press record, now start Djing (firing clips, moving faders, tweaking fx) when you're done, Live will have made an arrangement of everything you did. :!: This is one way of working with Live: You Jam clips in the session view and everything you do becomes an arrangemen...
