I think most users quite like to manually ask the software if there are any updates. I hate to hold NI up as a standard-bearer but their combo of Alert Email ("hey there are updates to your products!"), then the user can manually start the Service Center at their convenience ... that actu...

I'm not sure about OS X, but on Windows there's a context menu option for documents called "Open with" that allows you to specify a particular executable to use with a given file type.

I would guess there's something similar on the Mac side.

I think a stand alone "update" app like the NI one might be a big improvement for Ableton. It would sort out all these "do I download the big or small updater?" queries it would allow users to download only packs that they hold licenses for It would allow users to see and access...

Yes, we've seen this and similar wishes before, but the current state is that grooves are applied to individual clips, rather than to tracks. Thus there's no way currently to apply a groove to the underlying grid.
