1. That's because midi instruments don't have a midi fader for volume in real life either. But you could assign midi controller number 7 to the mackie. Or you could record it to an audio track and fade that out. 2. check your preferences  AND MAYBE YOU CAN STOP SHOUTING AND READ UP A LITTLE BE...

I had sort of the same problem when one day i could not use most of my midi inputs. I my case it had something to do with my novation remote software that had been upgraded. What worked for me is this; make a screenshot of your current midi configuration so you will remember what it was. Now remove ...

the things we talk about with Live 3 for me highlight the fact that the session view was always the strongest point and it has been totally ignored for a long time now I use a lot of hardware, so midi is important for me. But the reason i bought live was the session view. That is THE feature that s...

speedstep \ power save
you can run powercfg.exe on the command prompt, powercfg is a buildin command under Windows XP. Try POWERCFG.EXE /Q and check if Processor Throttle (AC) is disabled. If not you can try to change it with something like POWERCFG.EXE /x Home/Office Desk /processor-throttle-ac 0 try powercfg.exe /? for ...

OriginalSpaceMan is right. You're doing something that it's not designed for. If you enable delay compensation and have setup latency compensation correctly (see the tutorial) and your midi tracks are still running out of sync, only then something is wrong with Live. External instruments are designe...

question: AMD Quadcore support in Live 7
About a week from now AMD quadcores will be available.
I was wondering if the upcoming Live 7 will have support for this when released,
or if it is too late too include this.

some strange things are said here. yes, mpc's are hardware, but the hardware only powers the software which runs on it. For example the mpc 3000 has motorola 68000 processor in it, the same as old apple macintoshes. But the big difference is that it's os is optimized to play a fixed set of voices wi...

It would be nice to save a window layout to a 'memory' and assign a key to it. For example, the mixer in the session view can be resized so that it functions as an accurate vu meter. Nice while mixing. Now suppose that i would like to shift a marker in a clip and i resize the clip view so that i can...

I was looking for an answer why the midi recording in Ableton from a sequence playing in my mpc3000 is way off. Now i see why.. This behavior is really strange. I've been using midi sequencers since 1990 (beyond, metro, studiovision) and none of them exhibited such behavior. A jittery midi clock is ...
