Aha.
Maybe i'm suffering myself, but it's probably just gear-lust.

Re: Am I Crazy, LIve has Huge Headroom??
My cat is doing that right now.
(It's been recently castrated)
Perhaps this has happened to him too?
I feel sorry.

Re: Help Needed with External FX
Send\returns add to the signal from the track, so that won't work.
Suggestions that i have not tried:
Put the external fx in the same track and set the dry\wet to 100%?
Set the tracks to sends only, turn up the send and set the fx dry\wet to 100%?

Re: Analogue sounds warmer
Yes wish i had had those 80 quid in those days.. But i did buy an new synton syrinx when i was about 23, which had been in this shop since i was 16. Sold it for 4 times as much, which was nothing compared to my 303 which made nearly 14 times it's original price. In retrospect i should have waited a ...

no offence taken
My mpc collected dust since using live.
Now i'm amazed how a lot of the way you do things are the same between m&m.

Re: Am I Crazy, LIve has Huge Headroom??
There has been a lot of discussion about keeping your levels low within tracks in a DAW, on the prosoundweb recording forum. (That was mainly about protools). There seem to be quite a few engineers who suggest keeping your levels low and using lot's of groups to submix. One argument is that by using...

Re: The Maschine & Ableton Love Thread ;) [upon user request]
@ starving student; i get my info from the manual and some from the forums. it's pretty well hidden in the manual, i searched on velocity and on switch and could not find it there. Also i never claimed to know, that's why i said as far as i can tell And now you corrected me and helped a few other pe...

Re: Analogue sounds warmer
That comparison between tubes and transistors is an interesting one. When transistor based studio equipment came out the guys who were used to tubes treated those things in the same way they were used to. And that sounded bad, so they sticked to tubes until there was no alternative. Meanwhile some p...

Re: Sudden drastic timing shift of the entire session
Had that kind of issue lot's of times.
You add something or record extra tracks and the timing suddenly sucks.
Sometimes get's better when you disable latency compensation.
With better i mean that it sounds tighter, tracks can still be shifted in timing,
but it's feel a lot less drunk.

Re: The Maschine & Ableton Love Thread ;) [upon user request]
Been playing around with it for a few days now, still think sound design is a bit limited. No velocity mixing\switching between multiple sounds on the same pad as far as i can tell. But perhaps it's not fair to compare it to a rack stacked with parallel samplers. But i love the stepsequencer, it's m...

Re: @ Tarekith [maschine&live]
Sure, but that is Live, not something which maschine does.sounddesign limited.how?
you just route sounds to individual outputs in live.then add all your favorite fx.
Glad that i can layer though, let's see if i can find out how.
