Ease up fellas, it was just an off the cuff comment for crying out loud
The news has only been out for a few hours.

EDIT - Oh wait, forgot the US$30 off for previous owners. Hmmm....that's better :)

I meant in terms of massive groundbreaking features. Don't get me wrong, there are quite a few very handy workflow enhancements and additions like multiband dynamics, but for someone who doesn't use any of the Suite stuff, I find almost US$200 a bit much.

I'll probably still end up paying it though.

Yea, it is a bit more than I expected, especially since there really are no major feature additions to it when going from 7 to 8 :?

Well it's not really a myth but you have to look at the timestamp of posts when researching on the net. Dell did have major problems but that was like what, 2 or 3 years ago? I haven't seen much recent feedback suggesting that there are still widespread issues, though I have to point out that I've b...

I thought Apple stopped using TI?

Anyway, I don't think it's as massive an issue as it was a couple of years ago. The one I got on my Dell XPS has worked fine for the last 2 years.

What about the time spent in Windows on maintaining the damn thing. On Windows you spend half of your time running around trying to patch things up rather than being creative. Umm...no. You don't. If there is anything to patch it auto updates, you install it the next time you turn your PC off and y...

While I haven't actually used a USB AI, when I was shopping around for an AI more than a year ago I didn't come across much positive feedback. A lot of negative feedback on poor streaming ability, despite the fact that USB2 is quite fast. Somehow, I don't think anything has changed. HDD are fine on ...

Does USB3.0 not send in packets anymore? If it does then how is it better? Sure it's faster but packets for music production where you need a constant stream of data seems bad to me.

Didn't Apple drop the use of TI FW a while back? That seems like a very stupid move :?

I could live with the lack of Firewire if I had more USB ports to boot. Before you say "buy a USB hub, n00b!', let me say that hubs don't work when you're using external audio interfaces. They introduce huge latency problems, which makes them impossible to use. Hard disks also don't work too w...

Re: Mac vs PC dilema

Another +1 for the Dell. I've had my XPS for a couple of years now and had no major problems with it. Dell has a nice application too with the windows updates where it only releases updates and BIOS once Dell has actually checked to make sure it works properly on their systems. If you want to run OS...

Yea, it's just an unnecessary extra step that doesn't seem hard to code for if they did it. Just something to improve work flow :)
