Re: PX-18

http://www.monolake.de/px-18.amxd.zip This is cool. I did something similar using the Live.step object with my Lemur. The Lemur has 4 16xmultisliders... One for Velocity, Duration, octave, and note. I also added a range object connected to the loop length in order to do the two finger pinch range t...

Re: firefox

Problem solved. Discovered that Firefox will not effectively download the beta of MFL. All is well from here so far. :) Hey there Raz, Vance (Ex. Asphodel/SoundTrafficControl) here: I've had some odd happenings with Firefox on other projects, but I am able to use it to download both M4L and Live ef...

Re: Preset Hotswap?

oh - you mean using the Live API for that? Have you checked the feature request list. We ask every year. We also posted lengthy rants about Live having less midi capabilities than a 25 year old sequencer. As for what we do to work around it, we load instrument racks and use the chain selector as a ...

Re: Changing instrument presets and its routing on stage

Hello, I´m afraid that as long as Live does not make use of Preset changes via bank/program change messages, you´ll have to either manually load different sounds/kits or use the chain selection feature. Best, Christian This has long baffled me and strikes me as one of the largest holes in Live's fu...

Re: Preset Hotswap?

oh - you mean using the Live API for that? No way to do it - there's not a mechanism for looking at the File browser listings for devices or files of any kind. I thought you meant hotswapping presets manually. I sure do wish there was SOME way to switch presets for Effects and Instruments in Live w...

Re: sidechains and audio/midi routing in general...

Max for Live is hosted. We enjoy access to those things that Ableton gives us access to. At such time as multichannel output is available in Live, I expect you'll see it supported it in some way. I understand that multichannel (meaning 'surround' output or tracks which support multiple outputs) isn...

Re: multi channel

It's working for me now that I manually downloaded those 'missing' files and placed them in my Live Library. I like your approach of numbering speakers to make it simple to scale the number of speakers up or down. I also like the approach you took of using Matrix to do the panning. I was inserting o...

Re: multi channel

Edit: Aaargh - I hadn't thought about the fact that devices inserted on an audio track are inserted before the track's volume fader. Yes, thats what I just realized and first I thought it sucks. You loose the normal fader control and you don't have a master. But there is hope, you could grab the fa...

Re: multi channel

The External Audio Effect allows you to specify speakers and you can use any number of these. How would you do that? As far as I see, I can only create a row of effects, with the returns going back into the same track after the External Effect device. This could work for live input (be choosing the...

Great point. I was routing bangs, not audio. so send and not send~

I just assumed audio would work the same way. Damn it!
Got it. Confusion cleared up.

Re: multi channel

Very few (if anyone) use Live as their primary surround mix tool. I believe that most everyone who works in surround and uses Live, simply uses other software (PT, Logic, Cubase etc) when they want to do their surround mix. There is surely a desire out there for some form of support for surround in ...

Re: send~/receive~ across devices

What? Sending and recieving across devices seems to work just fine for me. I tested it several times before posting to this thread. http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=126331 Are we saying the plan is to break that functionality for the actual release? Or that it works for some people (li...

Re: multi channel

is there a way to output to several (physical) channels from from one track? i'd like to spatialize sounds from inside a maxdevice. I'm hoping that multiple outputs will be enabled in a version somewhat soon. But we have heard that multiple output will not be available in M4L devices in version 1.0...
