I use the projectmix i/o as a mackie controller. All you have to do in the projectmix's case is to goto the midi/sync page and under control surface select mackie control, and for the input and output select the projectmix (control) for both and voila

Ok, for getting the audio over lan the best solution i found till now is wormhole2 by plasq.com

Setting up is a breeze, and the quality so far is great....
