Re: Apple hardware never fails

Anyone who thinks computers never fail hasn't used them very much for very long. The difference is in how the company handles failure. I've had Dell laptops die. I've had HP laptops die. In both cases, it took weeks to deal with, and the customer service process was so horrible that I vowed I'd neve...

I would get something with actual keys over the nano. If you don't have any keyboard playing skills, it's worth obtaining some.

Re: Modular Synthesizer, MIDI, Ableton

I'm not familiar with the Audio 8, I just assumed it had input jacks. You can convert a stereo 1/4" or minijack to a pair of RCA with a Y cable.

Re: Modular Synthesizer, MIDI, Ableton

Yes, you would direct the MIDI data to the MIDI Out of the Audio 8 to the MIDI In on the A190.2. Then run the CV from the A190.2 into your VCO or whatever. And you'll probably have the audio out of the synth going back in to the Audio 8.

Re: Who ever had to revert a timemachine backup ?

So, this story is why I tell people to buy Apple (yes, it's on topic somewhere toward the end). A week ago Saturday (day after iPad2 launch), here's the timeline: 8:00 AM: the hard disk on my wife's Macbook Pro died. She was leaving town that morning, so I said I'd take care of it. 9:00 AM: I reques...

Sound Forge. I used to do a ton of voiceover recording, it's easy to set up a job that will load everything up, trim the silence from the ends, apply a de-ess filter, and normalize.
