Not sure but I think you can drive live using huei protocol for the midi control.

for the audio side, you will have to use the digidesign asio driver, it will works but don't expect too much in term of latency, it's digidesign after all...

I'm testing 10.5.5 at work on my daw. no problem so far and 10.5.5 is a bit less gay pride wheel oriented or sluggish compared to 10.5.4

just clean the temp files, 2 gigs left on the os partition is not that bad anyway.

moving your mydocs folder to another location is also a great idea.

If you have a bit of money to invest go for a glyph drive, the raid model totally rocks.
