Re: Berlin clubbing - WTF !?!?

as always...people have to take extreme positions. the press says Berlin is the best, so let's make a thread and bash Berlin club culture. Just another way of being different/special ? or spoilt "kids" complaining ? I mean, what is the basis for judgement for you ? Of course, there are loa...

Re: Max users: Always on top / keyboard hook ?

I tried it with two identical max patches, both just containing "key" and "print" but using different print prefixes. No matter which window has the focus there are always two printouts. Haven't checked whether it still works if NONE of the max windows has the focus. will check i...

Re: Where to learn Max

@Bynar: fully agree....the biggest thing about Max (and also reason for the steep learning curve) is that its based on signal processing and math fundamentals (should say MSP in that case). Apart from making it harder to learn, it allows one to see the big picture and to come up with novel ways of w...

Re: clip envelopes and automation

Now that you mention it, group tracks would be the solution....no clutter, yet different subtracks for different effects.

clip envelopes and automation

Hi there, Let's say I have a track with multiple clips (audio or midi), and for one of the clips, I want to apply an effect with modulation. As clip automation is relative, I have to open up the respective knobs before (e.g. Dry/Wet to 100%). In order to avoid the other clips (without clip envelopes...

Re: The big wide world of modular audio synthesis environments

@paradiddle: Yes, you can save your patches using the demo version of Max. Generally, having used Max, pd and Ableton (no programming in Reaktor though), I would always go for Max rather than Reaktor. The reason is exactly as mentioned, with M4L coming up and sufficient patching skills, it will be a...

Re: Automation and VST issues in Ableton 8

that's true, you can easily record automation into the arrangement view w/o manually configuring the controls (I am using L8 and Remote SL 25). Still, (I was using e.g Automaton), the modulated parameters don't appear in the clip views envelope section in the session view which makes it hard to copy...
