Re: Proudly collecting music gear and software for no purpose
Pulled the trigger on Gadget for Mac. Makes more financial sense when you look at it as about $7 per plugin usable in any DAW, especially their classic synth emulations. I exported a track I did awhile back in Live format and opened in Live and the plugins are already put on the tracks. :) Only poss...

Re: Proudly collecting music gear and software for no purpose
It's pretty cool how you can open your Gadget projects in Live though with all the instruments automatically assigned to individual tracks for further tweaking. Pricey, but that's a rather unique workflow too. 30 gadgets available as plugins. Plus I'm assuming with the iCloud sync any sample based ...

Korg released Gadget for Mac.

Re: The future of Live - should we worry? (video)
Ableton has found big success in its niche and doesn’t need to be all things to all music producers. I don’t think they really have a problem with competition filling in the gaps they are missing. Plus its less different types of users they need to please.

Export individual sliced samples?
What’s the most efficient way to drag a sample into Live, slice it into individual samples, and then export each one of those slices into their own audio file in a folder? ie: a single long file of drum one shots that you want to put each one shot into Kontakt or something similar.

Re: iPad
I got a 12.9" iPad. :) Really like it so far and it seems all my usual apps scale nicely on it. Also the on screen keyboard shows more characters so you aren't tabbing through keyboards as much. On the music side you see more tracks on the screen on Gadget and Garageband. But now the gold stand...

Re: New Akai MPCX and MPC Live
Looks like they would be good for those people who think they are writing better music because they aren't looking at a computer screen and at the same time aren't quite believing that bullshit.

Re: Upgrade to Sierra or stick on Yosemite ???
Haven't been DAWing it up too much lately, but weirdly I've had more issues with Logic (Apple's own DAW) and third party plugins than Live on Sierra.

http://discchord.com/appnews/2017/01/12/korg-gadget-is-coming-to-macos Korg Gadget will be coming to Mac OS. It will also have a package of plug-in versions of the gadget devices for use in other DAWs. Link blocked at work, but your brief description sounds cool. :) Is there any kind of cross platf...

Re: Bitwig 2 was just announced. What about Live 10?
Cant say I'm impressed with their new updates license. https://www.bitwig.com/en/17/new-license-model.html You buy the app and get 12 months of updates. Then additional years of updates cost you $169 every year. That’s preposterous, and I don’t think they are relevant or “gold standard” enough to p...

Re: New Macbook Pro
Duet Display for iPad added the task bar at the bottom. It functions the exact same way as the task bar on the new MBPs, changes contextually with the application in focus. It is a bit awkward to use but maybe that’s because it’s on the iPad. It just seems a little small, but maybe also because I’m ...
