APC40 in Live 9 - no record quantization?
I just picked up a second hand APC40 for cheap (horay Push! ), and everything works great except for the record quantization button. I mean, it sends midi data just fine when I remap it, but it doesn't default to switching between 'quantize off' and the last used quantize setting, as per the ...

Re: music theroy tutorials
I agree with everything above. No one is going to be able to tell you how to understand music. Once you have your basic vocabulary, you really need to play music in order to understand it. That said, here's a tutorial you should go through. Play these, don't just read it. Instrument doesn't matter. ...

Download the pack and replace its sounds with yours. It's the best way to learn.Thing_1 wrote:Well I am wanting to do this with my own sounds, I just don't know exactly how to go about setting my apc20 up to do that.

Re: Beginner status: Need some help! Button types.
Well, the description of that very video contains a link to download the soundpack that guy was using. Download that, open it in Live and set your APC to note mode. The sound pack is probably a drum rack, so you can organize the sounds on the pads just how you want them. Then you practice for a while.

Re: arrangement improvements + non-linear editing features
Which of these were too much to ask for? I guess all of them, since I cannot see any of the above requests implemented in live 9. In case I missed something, I'd appreciate if someone pointed out to where I am wrong. Andrejs Could be. I honestly have no idea since none of those features are a norma...

Re: Effects On Master Channel
Don't know about M4L, but grouping would be a simple solution. Just shift-select all but the one track and hit the group hot-key. Your problem will be solved in <10 seconds.

Re: Ableton Activity/Process Viewer
Yeah I guess I agree -at least having the option to see it would be nice. But anything that takes away from screen-real-estate at least shouldn't be there permanently :) Bar graphs behind the track/device names would be a good place for it, as long as we could turn them off. That way we could get a...

^^^ beat me to it!
It's interesting that there's a pseudo-warp marker in the right place, but that's not where it's warping from. So, the transient was properly detected, but the warping is off. Setting somewhere?

Re: dual monitor support damnit!!!!!
yeah, that´s right ... but ableton is a very cool software without. and DMS did not make You a better musician. that´s what a lot of people don´t understand. they think, if I have this cool new feature, my music-skills will be better - but that´s an illusion, they will have the same problems finish...

Multitouch input features
Like most cool people, I use a multitouch trackpad in one hand and a mouse in the other, with a keyboard in the middle. While this works great for many apps that support multitouch gestures, Live just sees it as some regular, pedestrian mouse. What I would love is to let the mouse do all the heavy l...

Two more key commands for the browser
I am deeply in love with the new browser. However, I would love it more if I could do two things:
1) Add an instrument to a new track (rather than currently selected instrument track)
2) Add a clip to currently selected audio track
CMD/CNTRL-ENTER should work just fine. Productivity level up!
