So... my new laptop will have 2gb of ram, which is a retarded amount for a notebook in this year of our Lord 2005. Only my live set will eat up that much, so I gots to wondering if anyone has made a RAM drive out of excess RAM, and put Live on it? I dont get the thing for another 3 weeks so I can't ...

well, you can select the part you want to keep and press Ctrl-E (Split) then delete the chunks you dont want. Or adjust the start/end points in the clip.

I should say RTFM. But, hit Ctrl-M and you will see a 'master' play button appear at the bottom of each track, assign that to a midi controller and it will play whatever clip is selected in that column. Alternatively, you can ctrl-M and assign any midi controller to play any clip by clicking on that...

Yes.

In Cubase, I could do around 4x the amount of VST's and tracks that I can in Ableton. I thought it would be the other way around as well.

i was just talking about that with a friend. I really dont want Live to become "that" app. The one that people are ashamed to use in public, because every act in the known world uses the same software. Time to step up the game somehow for my live stuff... I need dancing ponies, and firewor...
