effect recording

Could anyone point me in the direction of the best way to alter an audio clip through effects? Lets say I have a channel dedicated to leads. Certain effects I only want to impact specific lead samples. But as I drop the effects into the channel, the whole channel is affected unless I specifically tu...

Re: APC 40 or Maschine ?

I will attest though, in lieu of getting the Maschine, check out Hanz's APC 64 40 script for your choice. It will push the capabilities of your 40 to places you never dreamed for sure. :)

Re: How do you make your live set seamless?

I generally keep my left 8 columns set up for live clips, while using anything past for the creative process (or on the fly live stuff). I also keep each track set in 4 scenes (with the new track on the fifth. This gives me room to add new stuff easily while seperating easily in my APC. http://img.p...

Too much?

So I have been messing around with ableton for some time now with the end game of shooting for house music esq set. I am mostly focused on my own music, though wouldn't mind messing with some remixes on occasion. I do feel kind of overwhelmed with so much at my fingertips though. My default setup is...

Re: Midi recording with Instant Haus

I was gonna say I tried that, but when it was JUST now running it, I realized I had to choose the in from post effects below where I choose channel 2. Now the big question, why should you have to open up a second channel just to capture the midi notes? Doesn't make sense. Shouldn't the primary chann...

Re: Midi recording with Instant Haus

Sorry if it seemed confusing. I meant the primary recording function for the program. On the same channel that has the instant haus program, when I select a clip to record to with the channel armed, nothing actually records. The clip loops, I see and hear music, but no patterns write.

Midi recording with Instant Haus

I have been playing with this a bit lately and have been trying to record the midi clips I have set up on instant haus. For some reason though, it won't document the clips. Any clues why? Checked the promo video and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, but just thought I would check here. Che...

Re: advice

Best bet is to use time machine. You can back up your entire mac setup on the external, boot the new computer into time machine with the external hooked up and it will retain every setting and app you had from the previous mac.

Re: APC20 step sequencer

There's no specific advantage to it. I think some may even consider it more of a hindrance depending on your perspective. To me, the one Hanz set up on the 40 is a huge work horse. Mostly used in the composition stage, I like the ability to plug in my buttons as I go along and watch it scan across t...

Re: APC20 step sequencer

Hmm never saw that site before. I've taken to importing certain code from the 64_40 into the baseline apc20 scripts. Not sure if it will work, but here's to hoping!

APC20 step sequencer

Hey all, relatively new to the board here. I just picked up an APC20 so I could have a smaller little box to carry around when out and about and making music. I normally keep an APC40 at home and have been using Hanz's APC64-40 script pretty frequently there. My question is has anyone been able to e...

Re: APC40 - Step Sequencer, Note Mode, 2nd Device Control, etc.

I just wanted to say that this script has redefined the use I get out of my APC. I am wondering though if there's an option or an easy way to port the code over to an APC20? I picked one up for a bit more portability and would love to see the implementation. Thanks in advance if anyone has something...
