Re: The library mess
I'm with Angstom on this... Quote for him "So this is why we see the Pad : "All Alone Pad" exists only in Ambient and evolving, and does not appear at all in "pads". Ableton have a database system built on metatags, but their tags don't use it!" I've abandoned the Live ...

I took my son to one of those drum clinics the other week and one of the drummers (Greg Bissonette - veteren drummer who's played with just about everyone you can think of) was talking about how only about 50% of it is about musicianship and the other 50% is about being able to get along with peopl...

Has similar with my FA-66 interface.
Imho - Balanced Audio cables (xlr) eliminated the noise.
I was using unbalanced... and it sounded very similar to a ground fault.
Balanced cables were like.. $18. Well worth it.

Assemble the Ikea stuff well, and use Weldbond (strong carpenters glue) on every connection/ joint (inside & out) - sure it will take a hammer to take it apart.. but that is the point. Will not come loose with use, or get wobbly over time either. Angle bracket the side uprights into the wall (ei...

Re: WTF Ableton?
I'm just leery of the Abes coding lately. For whatever reason... the results are the same, Updating seems to cause more issues, problemss, or workarounds than before. Fanboy turned Meh. Love the interface, loath the update issues. I'm gonna pass on 9 and 64 bit for now... I've even rolled back to 8....

Re: How to get "blown" out track without blowing out Master?
Create another track - Call it 'C'
route 'Blown Out' to it (you could even record it there too).
Turn Volume on 'C' Down so that it doesn't push master into red, but that you still keep the sound you like.
Edit - sry Aiofferman .. I posted the same as you...my bad.

Your jaded enough to use 'rave' in an ironic fashion...
as a dis upon the commercialization of a once underground subculture, with potential.
But we still go...
I use the term 'wake' to imply the departure of a real loved one.

+1000 OP!
Thank you for the clear examples.
These options (quantize end by %, etc) are basic midi functionality.

Re: 8.4 'looses' vst patch when loading some songs
Thanks Manestra. For both the confirmation and the workaround. I've had to do similar 'track labeling' in changing over from AU to all VST - as some plugs in AU form would not open their GUI in Live consistently. I'll work around using 8.34 until the 9 jump. Prob finish off all those songs first... ...

8.4 'looses' vst patch when loading some songs
Just wondering if this is happening to anyone else. In 8.34.. I load up a song, which then loads and plays fine. In 8.4.. some of the Vst tracks do not load the correct patches. Eg. Omnisphere loads the 'default' patch not the 'strings' its supposed to. But several other instances of the same vst do...
