Re: best synth for learning synthesis

I find the Reason synths are really logical, and you can't go wrong with Subtractor to learn on (I can vouch as I'm learning synthesis using it right now.) Reason is also a really fun environment to just play around in too... might be worth checking out.

Re: Counting 6/8 time & dubstep song structure

Well, I don't think any dubstep is not 4/4 time structure. Are you making this song, or is it one you are trying to warp? If you're making the song, then I would highly suggest you go for 4/4 time structure or else it will not mix well with any other dubstep. Because dubstep is 4/4, you can count it...

Well as far as I know, the Axiom Pro "automapping" software isn't compatible for Live yet.

Re: M4L: Would this be possible?

I understand that there might be workarounds and such, but really, it would be great just to load a patch that allows you to route midi to Reason and audio back out (external instrument style) and to have sliders for all Reason parameters like a VST or AU. That would probably be about worth the cost...

M4L: Would this be possible?

I use Reason in Rewire and I find that automating Reason synth parameters a bit harder than it needs to be. It would be great if you could automate Reason like a VST, and assign knobs/faders, etc. It seems possible to me, because you can already automate the Reason Midi CC stuff in clip envelopes......

Re: Post your set up and your sexy cat...

How do you like the M-Audio Keystation, 80? I was thinking about maybe picking up an 88 key version to better learn to play the piano on. I have an Axiom 25 with some knobs and pads, and an APC40 coming... so all of the "bells and whistles" aren't really needed. Just looking for a keyboar...

Re: Akai MPD and MPK pad mods - tips for better pad sensitivity

I'm planning on buying an MPD32 at some point, so I will definitely be trying these instructions out if I'm not satisfied with the pad sensitivity. Looks like a pretty simple little "mod".

Re: first contact APC40

SOLVED!! Go to the Midi/Sync tab and make sure the APC is at the #1 slot in the control surfaces list. Abracadabra... RED! I didn't try the other slots, but I would imagine they are the other colors. I much prefer red because it stands out the best. I guess the idea is then if you have multiple APC...
