Re: Tricky mastering question
Fix it in the mix. Yep... After a trip back to the mix, i realised the vocals might have been too compressed on the mix stage, and when i recompress the whole thing in the mastering stage, they bring the whole song down. fuck. getting a song out yourself is really like riding a road full of unexpec...

Re: Tricky mastering question
Hey guys, thanx a lot to all of you, some really useful tips in here! I indeed am relatively happy with the mix, sounds good and i wanna keep it a little raw and homemade (its pop, rock, indie, electro, blabla, whatever, doesnt need to be ultra clean like house or smtg) so i believe its quite master...

Tricky mastering question
Hey guys, Here's a tricky mastering "challenge" i'm trying to resolve, and i was wondering if anyone here could give me any tips: I've got a song with soft verses and hard choruses. Special huh? And it seems i cant find the perfect compressor settings. When the verses sound full and good, ...

Live half-working features
Hi! I hope Live 9 is far far far away. When the Abes are done fixing Live's stability, they'll have to continue improving all the plethora of half-working features that's been piling up in Live over the years. So just to help them make a priority list, what's your favorite half-working feature in Li...

Re: The ideal sample rate / bit depth
Thanx for the replies guys. for sure i'll do some testing but always good to hear about your experience... For some reason i compare the sample rate to the frame rate of a film. and i know if i want my final result to be 24p, i'd rather shoot in pal at 25 frames than in ntsc at 30 frame, the process...

Re: The ideal sample rate / bit depth
well thats the thing, i'd like to keep it as open as possible... produce some nice sounding mp3's, CD, why not film? What would be safer then? 32/41000? 32/192000? Maybe it's because im not used to it, but i get the sensation that higher sample rates are supposed to give better quality but im afraid...

The ideal sample rate / bit depth
Hi guys, at what sample rate / bit depth should I export eclectic mixes made of live instruments and vocal recordings at 24/48000, 16/41000, plus vsti's rendered with live's internal processing at 32 bit and 41000 (i suppose). How important is sample rate here? Should i keep it at 41000? What would ...

Hi,
when using "duplicate time" command, all items in groups that are folded are not duplicating along with the rest.

Re: Films with great NON-electronic soundtracks
Almost all great soundtracks are NON-electronic, no?
except Blade Runner, i can't think of a single great electronic original soundtrack...
Maybe The Bourne Identity's eurotrash tunes?
