Re: Mic setup/audio interface help
well the channel strips look awesome but outside my budget at the moment. I think I'm going to get a new soundcard as it gives me the best of both worlds i think

Thanks Richie, I didn't even know that Tube MP existed! That's perfect for the job, would you say get a tube mp/channel strip over an audio interface?

Re: Mic setup/audio interface help
OK think I'm going to go down the new audio interface route, I'm torn between:
Focusrite 2i2
Mackie Onyx Blackjack
Roland Duo Capture EX UA-22
All of them look good and are exactly the same price. The roland and mackies both boast about their preamp. I'm running on yosemite.

My audio interface is my virus ti polar but it does not have phantom power or preamps as far as I am aware. What is my best solution to get my mic working? Some questions about PUSH
I'm thinking about picking up a PUSH but all the videos I see online are of people banging together a few sounds/loops and doing some basic scene arrangements. Is anyone using the PUSH at the mix down stage or is it just much easier to go back to the laptop? How easy/comfortable is it to add either ...

I honestly thought Live 9s EQ8 had everything I needed but then FF go and lunch spectrum grab-must have feature for next Live update imo

Live 9 poor performance
Recently upgraded to Live 9 from 8. 8 was running perfectly but Live 9 quickly runs very poorly, asif running a video game at a very poor frame rate. My laptop is very powerful and my cpu is around the 10% mark. Can anyone suggest some obvious things for me to try to try to sort this out?

Re: Mixdown: Controlling Return Tracks
Normally I still tend to balance anything feeding returns with the snd knobs, more than relying on the return track volumes later on. If I do reach for the volume, usually it's because I need to reduce say the reverb (or whatever effect is on that return) globally in the track. For the limiter, I t...
