Re: Using Push Without a Monitor
Cheers Eddie, I know this yes. It just became a bit of a mess with 128 parameters, so each time it wasn't to my liking I'd just say fuck it, restart, keeping mental notes of each "group" as I click along. Silly way of doing it really, next time I'll experiment with dragging them about. I w...

Re: Using Push Without a Monitor
TomV, I just do it the usual (and still as of this moment) clunky way - I load up my VST of choice, then click configure - and then manually add each parameter I'd like to be able to tweak from Push.16 banks yes, not 8. It'll show 6 - 7 banks at a time, depending where you are, with the buttons furt...

Re: Using Push Without a Monitor
From what I have seen it should allow a greater access to things in live and editing functions but I guess it depends on how you would need it to replace a monitor. For someone playing at a gig (which I don't) I would assume your content would already be pre-loaded and ready to go, you just need so...

Re: Push in my mailbox today !
I think there might a misunderstanding here. Push records AUTOMATION perfectly into session view, per clip. Automation here being that you already have your loop (or not, doesn't really matter), and you adjust parameters with the 8 encoder knobs, for whichever device you want. These adjustments will...

Re: After 10 years with ableton I just tried Studio One...
I'm gonna have to agree with that. I always used to have an OK/shit core of a song, and just kept adding track (though never up to 50, 25 max)upon track, plugin after plugin, not realizing that I was polishing turds for so long. Castles built on sand. Nowadays I only use a maximum of three tracks AT...

Re: Melodic step sequencer follow playback
Holding SHIFT (or is it SELECT..at work, so can't check - but one of these 2 buttons), and then pressing the cell (in the top row) you want to focus on will stop the display moving along with the playhead to the next cell and so on. To have it follow the playhead again, hold SHIFT (SELECT?) and sele...

Re: Push in my mailbox today !
Session view per-clip automation most certainly works with Push/live 9. Be sure to have the "Automation" button as well as the red record button engaged for your clips to record automation data.

Re: Getting Push soon (maybe)
Yeah, I was in your boat for months because I already had other gear which all combined could do what Push can do. But not all of it, and not nearly as fluidly. I thought it was simply gearlust, and that all the pretty lights were beguiling me. Best hardware I've ever used.Three months on, and I'm s...

Looking to buy new laptop
Hello I currently use a 4 year old desktop, first gen i7 at 2.6ghz, 6 gig RAM, 1TB 7200rpm HD, Windows Home Premium 7 64 bit, and a Nvidia GTX295. I switch between using my Pod HD desktop guitar unit and an Edirol UA25 for an audio interface. Latency could be better, but it's OK for now. I wanna go ...

Re: Changing names of Bank1 Bank2 Bank3 etc..
Totally agree. I just posted this on the Beta forum, and the Give Feedback area, which is basically what you are suggesting: When configuring a VST, currently it simply places each parameter in banks of 8, in the order that you've selected them. I want to organize these banks: name them, have less t...

Re: Learn to play ableton push or piano?
If you're saying, in a nutshell, that you prefer expressive musical output as opposed to technical proficiency, or "chops", I agree with you. Virtuosos are, to me, for the most part, boring and uninteresting. I'd much rather listen to Kurt Cobain playing one of his fairly simple but highly...

Re: Getting Push soon (maybe)
Hello (1) I do not feel fundamentally limited in any way, quite the opposite effect. Since getting Push, I simply don't look at the PC screen or use the mouse and keyboard. I make electronic music with sprinkles of guitars and vocals here and there. I can build a whole sketch of a song from scratch ...

Re: Learn to play ableton push or piano?
My money would be on actual Piano lessons. Piano has been around for hundreds of years and will be much more worth learning other than just playing classical. Learning a bit about pianos, proper playing techniques and even theory will go further than which buttons to press on a Push. I guess it com...

Re: Push Clips Disappear When Closing Group
Yes this is normal. I think it's fixed in the beta, for the upcoming 9.1 update. Beta 9.20b to be exact, but I'm still on 9.18b, so can't check.

Yes, all 64 pads of the centre area support aftertouch.
