Double the cache is huge imo.

Re: Few ask about Ableton and cpu...

Lower latency settings will put more strain on the CPU. Interfaces with well optimized drivers tend to put less strain on the CPU.

Many times when I see overloading this easily its because of Power Management settings. Something to check, but I'm guessing you are already on top of that.

Re: Live 9 will not allow me to drag mp3 to audio track

Unfortunately, anyone running jbridge has to run Live as administrator :( One workaround I have found is to use explorer++ in administrator mode. ( https://explorerplusplus.com/ ) Of course, since explorer++ is not native to windows, many times I end up in regular explorer instead. Or maybe want to ...

Re: DJing on the fly with ableton

For me, the pace just gets quicker and more interesting with pre-warped tracks. More edits, better arrangement control, less thinking required, etc. I agree with Tarekith though, its a lot more computer centric to warp on the fly and imo more of a 'when I have to' situation as opposed to preferring ...

Re: DJing on the fly with ableton

I love DJing with live myself. However, depending on the gig, I may just opt to use CDJs. Traktor is fun if a friend has it, but id rather not mess with a computer just for what Traktor provides. It needs to be more than that. Otherwise its easy enough to pop in a USB on standard equipment and go at...

Anything by Ultraista for starters:

I also can't get this song out of my head lately, definitely gives me that 80's vibe:

Re: DJ mix warping problems

What I personally find is that if the first marker is where it needs to be, and a later transient is where it needs to be, anything in between is never off enough to matter. Not including vinyl recordings and live instrumentation of course. Or maybe if a track has a BPM change at some point.

Re: DJ mix warping problems

That's one of the reasons I prefer to use the one marker method as much as possible, because if I need to warp on the fly its the easiest way to nudge without too many problems. As long as its 'close' I can drag the later transient while its playing without much issue. Moving a warp marker on the fl...

Re: DJ mix warping problems

I used to place two markers, one near the beginning and near the end, but after a few years of doing it that way I now find one marker less work and less problematic overall. Either way, if it works it works. 8)

Re: DJ mix warping problems

Turn off autowarp. Place one marker before the first solid beat of your tune. Go later in the track, find a transient arrow, click and hold the transient, and drag the relevant beat (transient position doesn't matter) where it should be without placing another marker . You only need one marker. Work...

Re: APC40 Phantom Mapping

Keep in mind that if you manually assign a control on the APC40, it will use the following MIDI Channels/CCs: http://www.akaipro.com/files/misc/APC40map_500b.png Otherwise it will use its native assignment method which typically doesn't interfere with other controllers (I forget the technical detail...

Re: Virtual Reality - the next compute platform?!

What I really want to see is a move away from the linearity we have been confined to over the life of computing.

The question I like to ask is: what if you could read a page in all directions? This is the primary concept I want to explore, something I refer to as Radial Browsing.
