Re: Guitar to interface impedance matching

You'd notice if the input your are using is not hi-z. If the signal you are getting into your DAW is strong, I wouldn't worry to much about it. Your 'instrument level' switch is doing the job for you.

Re: Dither Options

Many different interpretations.

I always prefer type 2 on my music, I chose that by rendering 3 versioj using the 3 pow-r noise shaping dither types and asking some listeners. general consensus that drums seemed better defined with type 2...but frankly I couldnt hear much difference myself...

Re: simpler/ basic sampling questions

You can change the root note to get the sample to fit the actual note, yes.

You cannot preserve the length of the sample as you change pitch in Live, no.

I think the simple asnwer is that consumer headphones are designed to flatter the music, but their actual success in doing that varies greatly usually depending on how much you paid for them. For studio and monitoring use I think its subjective. I guess most people wouldnt buy more than one paid of ...

Re: EIC2 and Session Drums

ah, OK. I think the main thing to get your head around is the use of the multimic kits in session drums. Once you get your head round them they can be good fun, but you can spend a lot of time fiddling...
