Re: Clip Loop mode

You can do it with ClyphX (or, rather, a utility that comes with it), which allows a clip to be recorded for as long as the Global Quantization setting. So you'd use the GQ to set how many bars to record for.

Re: LPK25 arpeggiator sync?

In my experience, it worked when the sequencer was running (which makes sense but was a bit annoying) i.e., when "play" was activated.

Re: Holy Sh*t - Maschine update 1.6 brings VST/AU hosting !

Not to oppose any of the good ideas already mentioned (and perhaps this one has too and I haven't seen it) but I would like NI to put in an "Arrangement view" that only records live playing/arranging, including everything you do with the pads, buttons and knobs and would then play back eve...

Re: A new version of Korg Nanokontrol?

There's this thing called Google. It's amazing. :P http://lmgtfy.com/?q=korg+nanokontrol2 The UK site seems to be slightly more comprehensive about it too: http://www.korg.co.uk/products/software_controllers/nano2/sc_nano2.php Hopefully their build quality will be better than the first ones. Especia...

Re: Is NI kickin' it or what!

...I think Ableton Live might have been better to completely avoid the traditional DAW route and not even implement Arrangement view as it is now but just keep it for one function that it does have which is to record in a Session view performance. ... Let the onslaught commence. :P im right with yo...

Re: Is NI kickin' it or what!

i still dont consider ableton a full-on DAW, and dont use it as such, but i wonder if the fact that it is passing for (or working as, whatever works for you.. not interested in this argument  ) a DAW has held it back a bit, whereas the abes could have been working on the features that really ...

For a start, I'm assuming you're talking about 8.1.2 to 8.2.1... :P

What things are you missing? Be specific.

Re: Is NI kickin' it or what!

I wasn't trying to argue and if you never liked the amp sims then my point was not even directed at you (merely used your comment as a starting point). I take it there are other things you do like about GR though? It's just the amp sims that you don't like? I actually do like quite a few of them. Ea...

Re: Is NI kickin' it or what!

Well, yes, I didn't mean (although I realise what I said) that there is nothing wrong with GR4. As you said the patch change thing and last I heard they hadn't returned Snapshots to it either. As a whole, it's not broken at all. Just still got a few hiccoughs. And I was mainly referring to the comme...

Re: Is NI kickin' it or what!

NI: still no DAW I'm not sure what your point is... How many DAW developers/manufacturers are prominent plugin/instrument/effect developers (not including their built-in ones)? And how many instrument/effect plugin developers also have a DAW in their product catalogue? Although NI are obviously all...

I believe you need to tell it to transmit the changes to the device. I can't remember which terminology it uses in that software. Might just be "Transmit".

Re: Is NI kickin' it or what!

Just my opinion on this discussion... NI produce a lot of different kinds of software and are expected to keep all of them up-to-date and running smoothly. Ableton produce one (or one and a half including Max for Live) and are expected to keep it up-to-date and running smoothly. Ableton Live touches...

If it's not in the manual and you can't find it with a forum/Google search, you should feel comfortable posting it in this forum. If it can be found in the aforementioned places, there's not really any need to post here about it. :P Unless it's a pretty good tidbit but there's a dedicated Tips &...

Re: The CEO of AKAI after Maschine 1.6 beta release

Though I have limited knowledge of the MPC machines, I think it's quite unfair to compare the top-end ones to Maschine. For two reasons. Price. And development time. Maschine is still pretty young. And this is also a factor that should be taken into account when people compare Maschine to Ableton. N...
