Custom slicing presets won't work if the Sampler/Simpler is grouped into an Instrument Rack. You can choose them from the slicing menu, but they will be ignored and the inbuilt Simpler defaults used instead. It's been this way since slicing was intro'd in Live 8 (2009?) so I doubt it will ever change.

You can just remove the Desktop folder from your browser (Places) until the bugfix is rolled out.

Set the Simpler to 2 voices (Classic mode only), turn off R (retrig)

just tried it here:
if i dbl-click the rack preset, it loads without the mapping, but if i dbl-click it again, it works.
so until this is fixed, just quadruple-click the preset

you can automate the R so it's enabled for the initial note-on, then off straight after it.
set R's automation lane to be unlinked so it doesn't loop too.

yes, it's been broken for a while but is fixed in the current 11.2.10 beta, should hopefully be released soon.

Rather than fill all pages of a single drum rack, you could use up tp 128 drumracks in a container rack and switch between them with a macro.
Easier to copy a drumrack to the next chain and replace its samples that way... 128 x 3x3 kits

there was (still is?) an issue with AU plugins not recalling their settings when reloading a set. maybe what you're seeing?

drum racks will only show note lanes for its active/filled pads. empty drum rack pad = no editor lane. you don't mention a reason for wanting to do so, but you can see all notes if you select 2x clips (with shift+click) - select a drum rack clip and then shift-click a neighbouring midi clip and you'...
