Re: ableton live 8 at mac pro xeon quad core 3 ghz

Live does support Multicore somewhat (like violetpow1) wrote, but individual VSTs usually don't. So Live uses 1 core per track normally and one for the mixer track AFAIK. Therefore most of the time you can have as much stuff on one track as one CPU can handle. I think this changes if you have one tr...

Re: ableton live 8 at mac pro xeon quad core 3 ghz

I have such a mac (2008) 2.8 GHz with 8 cores and 14Gig Ram and see similar CPU use as you. And it's basically the same numbers with Windows 7 64 Bit on the same machine (which I use the most). ACE is brilliant, but a major CPU hog, I have no other VSTs that are so hungry ;-) Can't comment on the ne...

Bouncy crashes very reliably here.
The free Meleda plugins were also very unstable each time I tried.

That is mighty good to hear :-)
I have only good things to say about Granite and the company.

Re: Robert Henke Granulator

Aif works just fine here, but I'm on Windows now.
Did you try different aif? Maybe it can't load some of Apples funny encoded ones (have seen that before).

Otherwise you should contact them: http://www.newsonicarts.com/contact_support.html
They were very helpful when I had issues.

Re: Robert Henke Granulator

I know Granite better than Granulator, but IMO Granite sounds smoother and more "analog". It's the first granular Synth/Effect I really like, since most of the time granulars sound too digital/harsh for my taste. The sound difference may be biased by the examples though, Robert Henke likes...

Re: Ableton not listed in Frankfurt Messe?

Hm, I guess 3phase could have released something like 15 albums in the time he needed to write all these forum postings (with whatever software he enjoys). I also guess that's why he has no time left to report bugs. He's in a trap I've been in many years ago as well, regarding a software I simply co...

Re: A fat reverb !

Not sure what others think about it in comparison to what was posted above, but my personal favorite is Uhbik-A for some time now... http://www.uhbik.com/ All the other included effects are great as well... Otherwise I personally would go for Aether if the price wouldn't be as steep ;-) Cheers, Thomas

Re: The Get-Ready-For-2011 Group Buy...

Okay, last chance to participate in the Group-Buy at Wusik ;-) Only 5 People missing (as of sunday morning) to hit Level 5 with 100 buyers... Monday, 10th of January the GB ends - I guess in the evening... So if you are still unsure, give the demos a try! And no, other than being in the GB myself, I...

Re: The Get-Ready-For-2011 Group Buy...

Yesterday I played through the presets of Wusik EVE - also part of the Group-Buy - and I fell in Love with it. :-)
Very very nice and fat retro sounds.
While a bit heavy on CPU, the sound makes it worthwhile for me.
Check out the demo:
