Re: Locking two laptops together via MIDI controller
not sure how you can control both laptops with one MIDI controller but hopefully this is a start ;-) You'd need two midi interfaces but you could use midi though to the second interface. And your in business. Then just build a switch for the audio and your set! Although it would have been nice if t...

Re: Live Monitoring!
I am running something very similar. Except we use a Presonus StudioLive 16.4.2 for the monitoring console then that goes to in ears. I use a Firestudio Project connected to Live then synced to the StudioLive for Jitter-free sound. I am sending 8 grouped channels of audio from Live to the Firestudio...

Re: Ableton / DMXIS help
I to am using DMXIS to run our light show on stage. We are not using any hardware to control the lights, it's programed in Live using 2 MIDI tracks that output to MidiYoke. One track to control the banks(channel 15) and the other to control scenes(channel 16). I have tried to run it with very little...

Re: Presonus Faderport?
Here are the instructions to get it working with Live. Its on page 17. Make sure you hold down the stop button and press output. It reverts back to the other mode when you unplug it or shut the computer off. So get used to holding stop and pressing output. But it works very well! I have one and I m...

Re: Ableton Constantly crashes in Win 7 x64 PLEASE HELP
Have you tried running DPClat.exe ? And seeing if you are having DPC spikes when this happens? I have been running Windows 7 64-bit with 8.2 and it runs very well. I am using NI Guitar Rig as well. Another thing to do is watch the log.txt file and see whats really going on. I bet it's probably a VST...

Re: Live8 - Is the arrange view is it possible to insert space?
You could select everything and move it to the right. Use the time selector up top and select all, cut time, and paste it where you want it.

Re: mixer tracking
One wonderful thing in Ableton is the routing capabilities. I would create a audio track for each channel, route the input and output to the channel on the mixer. This also works for group outputs as well. Just youtube Ableton Live routing, and that should get you started!

Re: transfering my Live library
External hard drive, it goes super quick if you have eSata! Just copy the live folder out to the hard drive and on to the new machine. If you want to make sure nothing gets lost in the process---You should collect all and save to all your projects.

Re: Chaning Track Names
Live does not update the browser as you change the names. The easiest way to do this is right-click the clip and show in browser, Ctrl+R(Rename Shortcut), name and your ready to go! I create a folder for each song and move the clips there! This makes it easy to re-create the set if it ever gets corr...

Re: RAID0 stripe size....
Since you have 3 1TB drives you could have done a small raid 5! I've have never trusted a stripe. I have seen them fail too many times. But then again those failures were on IDE, SCSI, and Sata...You might have luck with it on SSD!

Re: does ableton owe us something for a crap ver.8?
I to was having major crashes on a PC. Although it did get better with 8.1.3 but was still there...Then I realized it was an incompatible VST(DMXIS 1.1.0) causing the issues. A work around was running DMXIS as a host application. May I suggest that you start watching your log.txt file and see when, ...
