Re: your dad's oldsmobile
1. Audio-Technica AT-3035 (2035, 2020, whatever...cheap and life-changing, at least for me) 2. ART Tube MP Studio – still only ***$30*** at Musician's Enemy 3. Dynamic Tube, the most underrated Ableton plugin. Probably not underrated at all, I just love saying that. 4. The reverb plug from the U-He ...

Re: your dad's oldsmobile
Yeah, I often wish I had one of those big pro-grade keyboard DAW type'a nightmares. Alas, I took that huge wad of money I didn't have and dumped it on a Sherman and a modular instead.

Re: your dad's oldsmobile
Deepest thanks once again...I think this is an all-time online compliment record for me. :) Here is a question I have for anyone who might still be listening on this thread: is there a modeling plugin or sample set somewhere that has relatively realistic sounding funky horns? That must be the hardes...

Re: your dad's oldsmobile
Oh fuck that - then I can't turn knobs on the modular. :P I just wish I had the dough to get the hell out of here, move to SF or some such, and try and rope a few musicians to play this kind of stuff live. I've always wanted to be Sam Cooke, basically. Without the "shot naked at a motel" p...

Re: your dad's oldsmobile
Been on this electronic music stint for too long, what happened to me? :?: Even though I've given myself an in-depth education in synths lately, I've really never recorded anything that was much like electronic music, at least not the dancey technoey genre-based stuff. Nonetheless, I have definitel...

Re: your dad's oldsmobile
Thanks, glad you like it. I'm always a little torn about the vocals. I kind of like them nestled in there like another instrument. The sound is always much more important to me than the message.

Re: your dad's oldsmobile
Heh...actually it's the stuff on soundcloud that's more of a departure from my last 15 years or so. I built a Eurorack system in December and have been kind of obsessed with it, after spending the better part of the year in Synth Immersion. Extreme modulation is a real springboard for new song ideas...

Re: Have you bought M4L?
It just *had* to come out right when I'm burying myself starting a modular synth. I don't foresee buying any software for a long, long time. But that's okay.

Re: Berna
It really is kind of amazing, how much you can milk out of some really primitive modulation and a mixer.

Re: Berna
The limitations are really what makes it...anything you try to build with it, you're doing it with nothing but very basic sine and pulse modulation and delay. It's intense really, what complex things you can come up with using such rudimentary tools. Like the oscillators...at first you're like, &quo...

Re: Berna
Bump...seriously, this thing will rather change your perspective on making electronic music. And for just €10.69.
