Re: A sub for my 8020s or replace them with 8040s ?

Thanks.

I would LOVE to test both solutions but unfortunately that's not possible.. I will post the question on Genelec's forum too though, thanks for reminding me of that :)

A sub for my 8020s or replace them with 8040s ?

The problem - although I've always been happy with the loudness of my Genelec 8020s, I need deeper bass. I know the Genelec sound and want to stay with them, so I have narrowed my options to.. 1) Add a 7050B Active Subwoofer. 2) Sell the 8020s and buy 8040s. Yes, I'm skipping the 8030s altogether :P...

Recently added Massive to my small arsenal of synths, only really getting into it this weekend and I'm getting a lot out of your blog, keep it up :)

Re: Sidechaining with fabfilter pro-c

In Pro-C, click 'Expert' then 'Ext' under the Side Chain section - this makes Pro-C declare a set of audio inputs to Live, and you will send your Side Chain key to those inputs. On the track that is being used as the Side Chain key (e.g. a kick), under Live's I/O section, choose 'Audio To' to be the...

Re: Problems using whole numbers (i.e. -22 dB and not -21.7 dB)

Huh? That's crazy talk - seriously, why would you want to go and round up/down all your thresholds etc? 8O If you dragged the sliders, pots and such blindly til they sounded good chances are they wouldn't end up integers. If anything there should be a feature to HIDE the values so you listen rather ...

Re: i found the perfect studio monitors!(Genelec)

Yep get the 8030s, you can always tilt the bass if you find it too much 8)

I have the 8020s and wish I got the 8030s as I could do with just a *bit* deeper bass response and I don't know if I can be bothered with the hassle of a subwoofer..

Audio Unit parameter visibility.. bug or feature ?

If you drag and drop an AU plugin on a track, then unfold the Device Parameters, the parameters are visible as I would expect.. however, if you drag and drop an AU *preset* of the same plugin on a new track, when you unfold the Device Parameters, there are no parameters configured. This is a bit of ...

Re: Post your set up and your sexy cat...

^ Nice! Are those 8020s? Yep, a little bass light but I do love them :D The accuracy of my monitoring is compromised being in a corner/next to a wall, so I bought them with one eye on upgrading to the 8040s once I'm in accommodation where I can have a treated room and proper positioning. Until then...

Re: L8.1.1 - all uhbik 1.1 AU plugins crash Live

Same here, on both Mac OS 10.5.8 and 10.6.2, Live 8.1.1.

Drop any Audio Unit Uhbik on a return in an empty Live set and Live goes 'poof'. HUGE pain in the arse as all my sets use AU plugins 8O

McQ714 wrote:^ you can use whatever coffee you want. they have a re-usable filter thing available to put your own coffee grounds in. or teas or hot chocolates.
Interesting.. if you use your own grounds - do you have to maintain the machine at all, i.e cleaning, other than replacing the filter when its borked ?
