Re: Python scripting in Live

I can see that Python might be easier - connecting wires is probably the most annoying/inefficient part of Max. I'm not sure I can find the time to learn Python to a sufficient level. The thing that would worry me about creating a python script for a custom controller is that with each new version o...

Re: Python scripting in Live

you should have a look at the noofny controller , and protodeck and the scripts they used. Ableton will very probably not release example scripts, since Max 4 Live will soon integrate all of Ableton's API into Max's wonderful programming environment. This will be fully supported, wheras Python scrip...

Re: Caipirinhas

Last time I had pisco sours was in Pisco, which I think I remember being in Peru. A lot was consumed that night. I might be ready to drink one again now. Wikipedia tells me 80% of the city has been destroyed since then by earthquake. hmm. Funny memories that night and morning. Caipirinha's on the ot...

Re: M4L Question: About Sysex/NRPN

does m4l have nidiout? if so you could probably build a patch which received midi cc from bcr/live, and translated to nrpn? Otherwise, I guess that's one of m4l's built-in limitations

Re: Novation SL MK 2, is upgrade from SL worth it?

I removed the detent from my 61SL mk1, but in such an amateur way that the encoder's are a bit loose now, and don't react 100% reliably. Oops. Removing an lcd screen is I imagine a cost decision, but they should have lfet it, added the lcd encoder rings, and increased the price another £20

excellent, I can stop feeling sorry for you every time someone asks when you're going to make some more virus patches. That sounds selfish, or stalkerish... I guess I meant good news

Re: Not sure if you caught this, Live pack and MFL examples

watching the beginning of the lfo vid, I wanted it to be drag-n-droppable. Hope Ableton figure out a way to implement that, since it's inherent to Live's workflow.

man, I find having 61 keys to be constricting. I think 37 is a good number for a second keyboard, but then that's probably too much to be truly portable.

I miss my microkontrol

Re: So I had my first gig with Live the other night.

bad luck. If the problem never occurred in the studio, that suggests it might be something to do with the environment - heat and vibration don't work very well with computers. Did your Mac give you any indication of what the problem was, any error message? YOu could try NI support, or their forum. I...
