Re: Lessons learned from researching Audio Interfaces
I was really blown away with the speed and stability of the FireFace UCX over USB. I can now use Looper and play perfectly in sync with Ping-Pong delay. At a buffer size of 32 samples @ 44100, Live is reporting < 2ms round trip, and I believe it. The latency is low enough that I can’t tell the ampl...

Re: Latency settings inconsistent
When I adjust my in/out sample rate and buffer size, the input, output, and overall latency show some numbers (nice low numbers), and then suddenly jump up ... I've never encountered this on any machine, in any OS, in any DAW with any audio interface the last 17 years. I have a hard time thinking t...

Latency settings inconsistent
Hey dudes, I had a little look around for existing instances of this, but I've not found it pop up in other forums, so I'm hoping someone here might be able to shed some light... When I adjust my in/out sample rate and buffer size, the input, output, and overall latency show some numbers (nice low n...

I had a vivid dream about a tool for selective mangling
Last night I dreamed that I was watching a tutorial for a device which would allow me to run an algorithm that looked at my arrangement and offered a percentage based mangling suggestion (based on a percentage control set before running the algo) which could then be further tweaked to basically put ...

Re: Latency issue on new MacBook Pro / Sierra
I got a hunch that it's DSP being applied to make the internal speakers sound "better" which is causing the latency. For me, the latency on my 2014 mbp seems to swing around. Sometimes it's quite low. I haven't yet figured out what's causing it to be inconsistent like this... MacBook Pro? ...

Re: Seeking an Alternative to Waves Vocal Rider Plugin
Cool. But how do you apply it to horror movies? To avoid screams  I mean while i am watching the video, didnt mean mixing a horror movie.. I send computer audio to Ableton (with loopback) so movie sound comes from an audio track with vocal rider inserted. (Saves my ass from being kicked in 3:0...

Re: Seeking an Alternative to Waves Vocal Rider Plugin
I'm interested to know the difference between this type of plugin, and a compressor... Essentially, this IS functioning as a form of compression, but I'm sure the results would be different. Unlike compressor it is like "your finger is always on volume fader". I mostly use it when i watch...

Destructive Processing in Live:
Hey there pals, Hope y'all are well... I have been using my OP-1 a whole lot over the past year, and I am really getting into the destructive nature of the processing... I also come from a background of running ProTools on various underpowered systems, and found myself using audiosuite a lot (audios...

Ah, I see.Tarekith wrote:I think the implication there is that now that we have sysex support coming, Live will be able to talk to external devices that don’t respond to standard midi CCs.
